I’m in a relationship, now what?
Hey, F24 here. I recently started dating this really great guy, 25M, and he’s everything I could ask for, though he’s not perfect, of course. I still tend to mask around him, but honestly, I don’t mind sacrificing three minutes of loud music blaring with the windows down in the car with him. I feel like I’m going to spend the rest of my life with him, and I love him. So, is this it? What else am I supposed to do after this? How many years should I date before marriage? I’ve seen on TV and in media that dating for 4-7 years usually means you’re supposed to be engaged, then get married and have children. If not, the partner gets annoyed and leaves. We both live with our parents, and they’ve been pushing for grandchildren. I want kids, but not right away, and I think he also doesn’t want children right now, especially since we don’t have any money. When I think about being an adult, half of me is excited and the other half is 16 and dreading responsibility.
