As many of the hikers head out of Virginia, they should be extra aware of the record number of tick bites happening on the rest of the trail NOBO.
Take precautions accordingly. Don't let the low prevalence of ticks from Georgia to Virginia result in complacency.

Dyneema (DCF) is soooooo expensive.
I have been looking at Etowah Gear Ultra TNT tarps and the performance criteria are almost equivalent to DCF at roughly half the cost.
Would there be any downside to offering an Ultra TNT fabric version of the Durston tents???
Until and unless I am spending several months of the year on trail, I just can't justify the price to weight savings of the DCF versus a silpoly or a silnylon.
But if Ultra TNT is viable for a tent??? Yeah, that is a much lower price difference that I could justify for the performance advantages.
Maybe I have a blindfold, but I think an Ultra TNT X-Mid would be bomber...
