Bad performance with Premiere Pro
So, I’m not a professional video editor, but I’ve been having serious performance issues with Premiere Pro.
I recently used the 7-day free trial, forgot to cancel it, got charged, and decided to give it another month to really test it out. But honestly, the experience has been pretty bad so far.
My PC isn’t high-end, but it’s decent enough. Still, even doing simple edits like moving an element or zooming in (sorry, I don’t know all the technical terms) makes the software lag a lot. It doesn’t fully freeze, but it gets really slow.
I checked what might be causing it, and it looks like RAM usage is going over 100%. I know 16GB isn’t ideal for video editing, but for the simple stuff I’m doing, it should be more than enough—especially for such a widely used editing software.
Does anyone know what I can do to improve performance?
PC specs:
- i5 12th gen @ 3.6GHz
- 16GB DDR4 RAM (2x8GB)
- RTX 5060 Ti (16GB VRAM)
