i feel like my friends are fake
I was hosting people over 2 weekends ago and invited 3 (lets call them 1, 2 and 3) people among others, 1 and 2 i talk to pretty much daily on discord and 3 joins infrequently. They are all old/better friends. Up to this weve had a great friendship but ive started seeing things differently after this weekend, mainly for 2 reasons. First being they canceled last minute, all through 1, who also cancelled later with a really lame reason. I thought it was weird they couldnt tell me themselves but beyond that 2 was messaging me that day about anything but coming over. I didnt ask because i figured he would say something if he wasnt but yeah. Honestly, i really looked up to this guy which is also why its so confusing, i thought we were really cool, we playlots of games just us and still do, he was excited i got on the other day to show me his new build….. Oh and lastly, he lives a couple hours away but conveniently was in town the day people were coming over so i invited him, i find out from 1 that hes in town to hang with 1,2,3, i had already invited 2 and 3 before i found this out, because they are in town and knowing hes gonna move i wanted to come so thats why i brought it up. i figured it was just really convenient. hes moving 9 hours away in a month and has plans to travel until he arrives at his new place.
So the other thing that has me questioning my sanity is how i have suggested games to play but im never taken seriously, and when someone else mentions it they play, have a great time, and make no effort to include me.
Does this happen to anyone else? I wanna say that we have a ton of fun gaming, they do want me to play games with them, but its only the games they want to play, and wont try anything new or old, basically whatever I suggest. But when i play with them its all fun n games. My old friend group was giga fake and it didnt do me much good, so i am kinda sensitive to this kinda thing. Ive been thinking about it all week
