Alfred Sant wants name of Mediterranean Sea to be changed to ‘Sea of Malta’
independent.com.mtThe world from the perspective of Maltese Facebook
Basically how the idiots over on Maltese facebook view the world (NOT MADE TO OFFEND)
THIS POST IS NOT MEANT TO OFFEND ANYONE (except those who bitch and moan all the time about "chemtrails", "woke agenda", etc.)
How do you stitch very large books
So, I am trying to get into book binding. I tried it before but I never felt that I made a "real" book, so I wanted to try it.
I have like 20 signatures of like 6 A4 pages each (folded into A5 and then holes punched) The holes are not perfectly aligned and neither are the pages but I don't really find that as much of an issue. (Plus I'll just cut off the extra parts of the paper with an exactoknife to get them all (somewhat) neat)
My issue is that every time I try to stitch (kettle stitch) i run out of thread. I try to get as much thread as possible but the more thread I cut off, the more tangled it gets (and I need to get it through every hole in its entirety). How do you guys fix this?
TL;DR: large text block of 20 signatures. I cut the thread long, but it gets tangled up. How to stitch without getting tangled up?
Anyone else shocked about this?
15-Year-Old Held In Isolation Linked To Global Abuse Network
I've seen small documentaries on YouTube relating to groups such as this one, but despite it operating worldwide, I genuinely never expected it to happen in Malta. I'm not saying Malta is some safe haven, after all we've had cases where people were arrested for promoting ISIS propaganda, but this genuinely shocked me especially considering that despite 764 itself being a terrorist group, it also has connections to other terrorist groups.
It is genuinely different when one day you're watching a YouTube documentary on these lunatics, and you hear that someone in your country was arrested for affiliating with them the next.
Is the Daphne Caruana Galizia case Malta's most important legal case?
I wanted to ask out of curiosity, is the Daphne Caruana Galizia case the most important case in Maltese history? I'll assume the best starting point would be the independence of the State of Malta (September 21st, 1964). My reasoning for saying this is because I don't think during the time of British colonialism or the Knights Hospitaller, I dont think courts would have been fair.
My question is has there ever been case before that was much more important overall in Maltese history, or is this case the biggest / most important case in Maltese history?
edit: Just to add, if this post comes off as dismissive of the case it is in no way my intention, I am just curious if there has been a much more important case before all this.
Web Developers of Malta, how much do you make?
People who work in Website Development in Malta, how much money do you make?
Do you only do personal gigs? Do you maintain websites? Do you have a job with a company? All of the above or other?
Trying to get an idea of everything.
Need to ask, how to control fear. Just need some me support
I've been adjusting my dose of meds, decreasing lamotrigine and increasing Kepra.
My last seizure was around 5th June, so this is a milestone, going this long without a seizure. After around the 4 week mark I started calming down and stopped thinking about the fear, but now it's back.
Today is day 3 into a 2 week trip visiting my girlfriends family (different country). At first all was alright. I have been sneezing a lot the past 2 days which are just allergies, unrelated to epilepsy, but the more I sneeze, my limbs and chest start to ache. I don't know if maybe that contributes to the fear?
I haven't had a seizure since June 5th, nor an aura. It's just fear right now.
Anyone else gone through this and can provide support? I'm just really tired of all this rn.
Day 3 of rolling blackouts - My experience and suggestions
Treating this like a blog post and sharing my 2 cents because, why not.
Yesterday was day 3 of blackouts, for us it started at around 8 pm and remains ongoing into day 4.
My girlfriend found a mini fan, one of those cheap ones you buy from Temu. It had no charge but could charge with USB-C so we connected it to my power bank. At 50 - 75% charge it lasted a good while.
One of my friends powered a fan with a power station. Did some research and there are some which charge with solar panels and regular charging from the looks of it, though a cool fan is not as beautiful as the price, although it is worth it, on my opinion 😅.
My advice:
- Go to a nearby cafe / food court and charge your electronics there. Power banks, phones, laptops, anything you might need that's portable.
- Consider investing in a power station (like portable ones such as the solar chargeable ones I mentioned)
- Spend some time at maybe a cafe or food court with an AC. Try buying something small, like a coffee so they don't kick you out.
Stay safe in the heat. I'm privileged to have an AC (although it only works during the time we have electricity) so I can only imagine the nightmare people without an AC have to live through. Global warming is a bitch.
How is Mexit not been taken down from Facebook?
Created on April 26th, 2020, and after 6 years it's somehow still up? I love how there are people saying that Malta has no freedom of speech when this bullshit is allowed to remain up.
Celebrating a side of world cup in malta
About a few minutes ago I heard a guy about "ENGLAND!!!" Near a crowd of people in st Julian's. Considering Norway and England are playing and he shouted this near a lot of people, what are his chances of survival? 😭
(political question / rant) what exactly scares you?
Ġenwinament, xi jbezzakhom eżatt? Ha nibda billi nghid li iva, nies hziena jeżistu kullimkien fuq kull naha, iżda meta taraw xi persuna LGBTQ+, jew xi barrani, jew xi persuna (jista' jkun Malti) ta' reliġjon differenti jtikhom wahda fit toqba ta sormok. Jiġifieri, spjegawli eżatt, xi jbezzakom?
Ghax il maġġoranza nismagħhom jiġu mil insara, (biex jikkjarifika, m'inix qed nghid l-Insara kollha u lanqas maġġoranza, biss dawk li ma jistawx jghaddu ġurnata minghajr ma jikkummentaw fuq xi hadd mhux bhalhom) din nghida bhala persuna li trabbejt Kattoliku, ghalkemm mghadnix, x'inhu l-punt Tal mibgheda taghkom? Jien trabbejt, u ġejt mghallem fl-iskola biex meta jkun hemm xi hadd differenti titrattahom bir rispett, l-istess mod kif trid tiġi trattat int.
Hekk jiġi xi hadd fuqek jghidlek xi haġa hazina, nifhem li tirrispondi lura, iżda xi hadd minding their own business ikun Gay, trans, barrani, reliġjon iehor, etc. kif ghandhom problema biha?
ġenwinament tridu taċċettaw il fatt li ghalkemm Malta huwa pajjiż Kattoliku, hemm ukoll nies differenti.
Ma nafx ghaliex din daqshekk diffiċli taċċetta.
What if we did this with far-right Facebook groups 😂

reddit.comEuropean Alternatives for TEMU
As we all know, the EU implemented a 3 euro customs tax on Temu. While this is to support EU businesses, it also is difficult for consumers who have previously bought from Temu. I just wanted to ask if perhaps there might be some good Temp alternatives for the EU.
Edit: I just wanted to add that my post was a "I want to find an alternative that fits in line with EU regulations, even if it's primarily to avoid the tax", I don't know why some people are taking offence to this.
Fictional Atlas
Has anyone here ever tried / knows someone who tried to make a fictional atlas? Im not saying like 3 small maps, im talking a book (or ring file) with multiple maps of the same project.
I wanna see if anyone tried to make one. I intend to make a "small" one for a fictional world, but instead of outright making an entire book, drawing a few maps of a fictional world / fictional scenario and putting them in a ring file, all with a legend and stuff like that
Considering comments by Conrad Borg Manche and PN defending them, should Pride still be held in Malta?
I want to add that I don't think Conrad Borg Manche's comment on how Pride shouldnt be held because "they have all the rights they need and are accepted by society" came from a place of malice, however they still are wrong and overlook the exact reason why pride is celebrated. Not to mention his argument of "LGBTQ people already have legal rights and have *widespread socially acceptance*" can easily fall apart because we can extend the same logic to celebrations we need to also keep, such as Independence Day and Jum ir-Repubblika. (Not to mention that one look on Facebook tells us how widespread that social acceptance is)
