One of my favorite movies is Raincoat. It's by a Bangla director, i think, but the setting and actors are indian.

I have since been on the hunt for similar movies where both lead deeply care and yearn for each other and whole thing as well as ending is bittersweet. Not your typical masala movie with Naach gana and vulgar dialogue.

I have seen many underrated movies just to stretch that itch, but none hit the spot. Would love some recommendations. Thanks.
