Building an automated system to take car of your plants wgile you enjoy their fruits

I know how incredible it feels to have plants at house, but in my case I had to leave the house during weekends and my plants were dying from thirst during this time. Nevertheless, I had to go to the university and later to work and when I come back afternoon or at evening I was either very tired and I forget watering my plants or I get too lazy to do so.

Few days ago I thought, why not making an easy to use system that can take care of my indoors plants, to make it more like a "plug and plant" device, so it is so simple to use it and can achieve great effect. I am specialized in embedded systems, and I can create this systems by myself.

Yet, before starting with this, as it takes a lot of time and work so I want to know if you guys have any better solutions or if you find this idea great and useful.

I am open to all of your suggestions!

I want to build something but I would rather make something useful, affordable and well made that will help people in every day or very occasional problems. Any suggestions?

Hey everyone, I've noticed that a lot of big companies are only focused on what makes the most money, rather than what people really want. I think there are a lot of everyday problems, or things we only need occasionally, that could be solved with affordable, well-made tech. I'm looking for any pain points you have that you think could be addressed with electronics or a mobile app.
