My 2nd find!

Hey guys, If you’ve read my last post you’d know that yesterday was my first time binning! Today I went back to that same target with some scrap stuff I had and as I was tossing it in the bin I snagged myself a macbook! Model a1465! (Does anybody know the newest Mac OS version this thing can run without slowing down or lagging? Not really interested in Linux.) I saw its MagSafe charger in the bin but as I was gonna grab it the store manager came and told me I couldn’t recycle stuff with the bin lid open :( unfortunately that’s 2 different generations of Mac chargers I need now so as I’m typing this I’m heading to the thrift store to see if I can finely a charger for either of the macs! Thanks for reading :)

First successful find!

Made an account just to post this, but I’ve been lurking this subreddit for a while now and finally mustered up the courage to go try out looking in a bin myself! Since I don’t live in a wealthy area, I figured the Targets near me wouldn’t have anything, so I took the bus to a mall that had a Target in a wealthy area and looked inside the bin and found a MacBook! I have no idea what model it is, but I read the bottom, and it seems to be a 15-inch MacBook Pro. It seems to be a 2008 model, judging from the copyright on the bottom. The only issue is I don’t have a charger for it, so I have no idea if it works or not, but I’m grateful nonetheless! As of my first find though I think I did badly, I just sat on top of the bin next to the e-waste bin and waited for the coast to be clear before opening it and snagging the MacBook and leaving. I feel like I was being too suspicious, and they’ll start looking out for me. I’m hoping to gather a bunch of junk tech I have and go to the same Target tomorrow and throw it all in there while grabbing any good stuff for myself. I’m very nervous to go back though, since I feel like they’ll be on the lookout for me and catch me. I’m thinking if I get caught, they’ll just kick me out, but still, I’m worried I’ll get banned from the location or they’ll see me snooping and lock the bin. After I left that Target, I went to a Best Buy and a Staples and couldn’t find the bins in either. I looked inside Best Buy and noticed a security guard right at the entrance at a desk with cameras, so I’m scared of looking at Best Buy’s now, and Staples didn’t even have an e-waste cart that I’ve noticed some members bringing up. Any help on those two will be appreciated! I'm still glad my first bin dive resulted in finding something nice; any tips for future dives would be appreciated. :)
