The Neptune Maxout project has received a major update! It is designed to make installing and using Klipper on the Elegoo Neptune 3 family easier—even for new Klipper users.

WHAT DOES IT DO?

Instead of manually creating folders and uploading every configuration file separately, users can select the package matching their printer and controller and install it through SSH.

🔄 OTA updates through Mainsail

After the first SSH installation, Neptune-Maxout-Configs appears in Mainsail’s Update Manager. Future improvements can be installed without manually copying every file again.

This guided tool can home the printer, optionally heat the bed, clean and purge the nozzle, open Klipper’s TESTZ controls, and save the new Z offset.

⚡ Experimental speed profiles

Normal, Fast, and Ludicrous profiles are being developed for controlled testing. These change Klipper’s maximum motion limits, not the speeds commanded by the slicer. Upgraded motors are strongly recommended before testing Ludicrous mode.

AFTER INSTALLING OR UPDATING

  1. Confirm that the package matches the printer and controller.

  2. Verify the MCU connection and pin configuration.

  3. Run Z Calibrate + Clean.

  4. Verify input-shaper settings.

  5. Home the printer and perform low-speed motion tests.

  6. Keep the automatic backup until successful prints are completed.

Neptune Maxout update: easy Pad 7 CB1/CM4 rotation, custom theme, audio, KAMP, and Klipper configs

I’ve been building and testing a complete set of Klipper upgrades for the Elegoo Neptune 3 printer family, and the latest Neptune Maxout update is now available.

One of the biggest additions is a standalone BIGTREETECH Pad 7 screen-rotation installer supporting both:

  • The original Pad 7 CB1
  • Pad 7 units upgraded to a Raspberry Pi CM4

It provides four selectable screen orientations, properly maps the touchscreen/digitizer in every position, and restores the selected orientation after reboot.

The rotation installer runs over SSH and does not replace your printer.cfg, KAMP installation, macros, theme, or audio configuration.

Important: The upgraded Neptune 3 Max motion and driver settings are designed for the documented Maxout motor, SKR 3 EZ, and TMC5160 Pro hardware. Don’t blindly copy those settings onto stock motors or a different controller.

These are community modification packages, so always verify your exact controller, MCU, wiring, probe, thermistors, heater load, and motion limits before powering up.
