Neptune Maxout: Easier Klipper installs, OTA updates, custom themes, KAMP, and guided calibration
The Neptune Maxout project has received a major update! It is designed to make installing and using Klipper on the Elegoo Neptune 3 family easier—even for new Klipper users.

WHAT DOES IT DO?
Instead of manually creating folders and uploading every configuration file separately, users can select the package matching their printer and controller and install it through SSH.
SUPPORTED PRINTERS
• Neptune 3
• Neptune 3 Pro
• Neptune 3 Plus
• Neptune 3 Max
SUPPORTED HARDWARE
• Stock Robin Nano controller
• BIGTREETECH SKR 3 EZ
• Pad 7 with CB1
• Pad 7 with Raspberry Pi CM4

NEW FEATURES
🔄 OTA updates through Mainsail
After the first SSH installation, Neptune-Maxout-Configs appears in Mainsail’s Update Manager. Future improvements can be installed without manually copying every file again.
🎨 Custom KlipperScreen experience
• Neptune Maxout theme
• Landscape and portrait layouts
• Four Pad 7 screen orientations
• Correct touchscreen mapping
• Custom controls and menu shortcuts
• Optional retro toy-laser button sounds
• Separate CB1 and CM4 handling
📐 Z Calibrate + Clean
This guided tool can home the printer, optionally heat the bed, clean and purge the nozzle, open Klipper’s TESTZ controls, and save the new Z offset.
🛏️ Guided bed tools
• Front-facing bed screw map
• Support for four to six adjustment screws
• Saved screw locations
• Manual bed tramming
• Temperature-guided full bed mesh
🗺️ KAMP support
The installer can configure adaptive bed meshing, Smart Park, and controlled purge lines.
🧵 Filament and maintenance tools
• Load and unload filament
• Color changes
• Runout recovery
• Heater safety
• PID tuning
• Input-shaper calibration
• Pressure-advance material profiles
• Maintenance counters
• Improved pause, resume, and cancel functions
⚡ Experimental speed profiles
Normal, Fast, and Ludicrous profiles are being developed for controlled testing. These change Klipper’s maximum motion limits, not the speeds commanded by the slicer. Upgraded motors are strongly recommended before testing Ludicrous mode.
AFTER INSTALLING OR UPDATING
Confirm that the package matches the printer and controller.
Verify the MCU connection and pin configuration.
Run Z Calibrate + Clean.
Verify input-shaper settings.
Home the printer and perform low-speed motion tests.
Keep the automatic backup until successful prints are completed.
Built and tested by HDR Performance. Community testing and feedback are welcome! Tell us which printer and controller you use and how the installation goes.
