Advice for travel in August-sep

Hi everyone! I’m planning an 8–9 day solo trip to Sri Lanka around the end of August to the first week of September, flying from Delhi.
I was initially hoping for a slower, beachy itinerary- places like Ahangama, Mirissa, Weligama, maybe Hiriketiya- but I’ve heard the south/west coast can be quite rainy and rough around this time because of the monsoon.
For people who have travelled there during this period: is it still worth doing the south coast, or would it be better to focus on the east coast / Kandy / Ella / Sigiriya instead?
I’m not looking for a packed sightseeing trip; I’d love a mix of scenic places, cafés, beaches, some solo-friendly social vibe and enough downtime. Would really appreciate suggestions for the best areas to cover in 8–9 days, realistic weather expectations, and whether Ahangama/Mirissa are still enjoyable at that time.
Thanks!

Need recommendations!

Heading to Vietnam in mid-June with friends and would love some recommendations!

Current plan:

📍 Ho Chi Minh City – 1 night near District 1 (cutting it short due to the rain forecast). Any must-do experiences, cafes, bars, restaurants, or areas worth exploring in a short time?

📍 Da Nang – 3 nights near My Khe Beach. Planning a day trip to Hoi An. Is Ba Na Hills actually worth it or is it overrated/touristy? Any hidden gems, food spots, beach clubs, or activities you’d recommend?

📍 Hanoi – 3 nights near the Old Quarter. I’m confused about whether to do both Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay as separate day trips. Will that be too hectic in 3 nights? If you had to pick one, which would you choose and why?

Would especially appreciate:
• Food recommendations (local favourites, not just Instagram-famous spots)
• Cafes
• Unique experiences
• Anything you wish you’d known before visiting

Thanks 🌻
