I need some opinions. My car (26 Tiguan SEL RLine Turbo) has been in the shop since January 7th. I have been trying to get a buyback processed since late February. They've seemingly been kicking the can down the road, ignoring me, never getting the part in stock.

Randomly today the dealer texts me that my car is now repaired. I've had a loaner all along and have actually already ordered and financed another car with the expectation of completing the buyback.

My question is, should I take the car back until the buyback is complete? I feel like them having my car at the dealer is the only bit of leverage that I have. Does anyone know if it actually does effect the buyback process?
