I’m looking for Pixel and Android 16 users who are interested in testing an early alpha of TIRN Security, a root-native per-app firewall implemented as a Magisk module.

TIRN is designed to provide per-app network control for IPv4 and IPv6, with a transactional firewall architecture intended to keep policy changes atomic and fail-closed. It is controlled through a local PWA/web interface rather than an Android application.

Important compatibility note: TIRN currently has no Android compatibility/abstraction layer. It was developed and tested specifically on a Google Pixel 8a running LineageOS 23.2 with Magisk 30.7 (30700). As a result, this release may not work on other Android devices, ROMs, kernels, or Magisk configurations.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people running:

• Google Pixel devices
• Android 16
• LineageOS or other AOSP-based ROMs
• Magisk 30.x

This is an alpha release, so testing, bug reports, logs, and compatibility feedback are welcome through GitHub. Please test on a device where you are comfortable troubleshooting or uninstalling the module if compatibility issues occur.

I've been developing PixelFirewall, a Magisk module providing a rooted Android firewall for per-app network control.

The project is still actively in development and, at this stage, has been developed and tested specifically on my rooted Google Pixel 8a. It isn't being presented as a finished or universally supported release yet. I'm currently doing real-world testing and looking for bugs and areas that need improvement.

PixelFirewall lets you independently allow or block applications on mobile data, Wi-Fi and LAN, with IPv4 and IPv6 support and VPN-aware network handling. It supports multiple Android user profiles and includes application filtering/search, live policy status, human-readable JSON policy backup and restore for clear auditing, and a lightweight local WebUI.

The WebUI can also be installed as a standalone PWA, giving it an app-like interface without the clutter of browser controls.

A major design goal is keeping PixelFirewall separate from Android's native firewall configuration. It only manages its own PixelFirewall firewall chains and does not flush, delete, or modify unrelated Android native firewall rules.

The project is designed for Magisk and does not require KernelSU.

I'm sharing it while development continues, both as a record of the project and to get feedback from others interested in Android firewalling.

So it took a bit of back and forth to compile xmrig on the Pi. With the help of ChatGPT I managed to get that completed.

Then xmrig wouldn't launch, and it wasn't reading the config . So again some back and forth with ChatGPT.

Decided to bypass the config.json and just launch from a single command:

Now as of writing this post the CPU on the Pui has settled on
speed 10s/60s/15m 3.36 4.30 n/a H/s max 13.47 H/s avg 5.30 H/s

Atrocious hashrate, and I honestly don't expect it to really earn me any Pepecoin. But I was more just curious as to if it was possible or not.

For comparison my CPU on my desktop using 4/12 cores has the following hash rate on randomx
speed 10s/60s/15m 2462.7 2466.0 2333.4 H/s max 2827.9 H/s
and mines me about 694 PEP/day

So yes I know a Raspberry Pi is not the right device to mine with and this was all just an exercise to see if it was possible and to learn a bit about compiling etc.

I would not recommend mining on a Pi.

Bottom dock is just a regular xfce panel with dockbarx plugin. With the theme set to dock for appearance. At row size 36 for the panel the icons changed to these monotone icons.

Namecoin is 20th, one slot above us, but their volume is 1/8th of ours, no reason we can't overtake them and climb in to the top 20.

$1 billion market cap would put us in 8th position in the top 10. Something totally achievable if the community bands together to spread the word. We all need to work for our bags to reach that point.
