New players: Don't give up!

If you love the game, the aesthetics, the gunplay, the mechanics, or even the setting, but you find yourself constantly dying to everyone... don't quit!

Keep trying, keep practicing, and keep learning.

Every death, every piece of lost loot, and every frustrating moment is a lesson on your way to getting better.

Marathon is a HARD game, so don't worry about what the pro players say. In this game, even the basic robots will punish you if you make a single mistake.

If you like the game and want to improve, there is only one way forward: don't give up!

Current Survival Mode at Perimeter is PERFECT for new players

The game currently has an easy 'perimeter' mode for new players, but it gets removed after level 12 (it used to be level 5 😵‍💫).

Honestly, 12 levels just aren't enough for a lot of people to get the hang of the game.

We always see posts complaining about 'free loot' and 'zero effort,' but if you aren't great at FPS games, this game is tough on its own.

I have over 300 hours in the game and have done almost everything, but I still suck at FPS games, so it's been a real uphill battle for me.

I would have loved for this mode to be permanent when I started. The learning curve would have been smoother, and the pressure (which is still there thanks to the PvP-lite aspect) would be way easier to handle.

I just want more people to play Marathon, and in my opinion, this is the way to do it.
