Good Facebook deal?

I found this thing on Facebook for $130. Maybe if it’s a good deal I’ll pay $150 or more for them to ship it. What do you think?

Just finished my new setup!

I’ve just finished my new setup which is powered 100% by a Xbox S.

If you have any question, suggestions, or advice, I’m happy to hear it!

I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out, but let me know your thoughts!

Cessna 188 Pilot Seat -> Flight Sim Seat Thing

I was just checking around my third favorite site, EBay, and decided to look for real pilot seats to give some extra outside (that’s a word I don’t use too often) realism in my flight simulator.

I was thinking about just moving out my out chair and plumping this old puppet in its place. im not worried about bolting it down, just on some thin carpet.

If anyone knows anything about Cessna 188 seats, how they sit in the ground and whether this could work, if be greatly appreciative. I already posted this to r/flightsim but that was more for this sim part, hopefully this sub will be more about the seat itself.

Thanks community!

Just built my first bike!

This is my brand old rusty… carmoubike (car mountain bike)?

I have no knowledge of mountain biking whatsoever but I had this old bike lying around and made it better.

737-700 Landing at LGA spotted from an E175

I was coming into LGA from YYZ and thought it would be cool to get this shot of a Southwest 737-700 coming in from Dallas.

Glow Conversion Hopefully Soon! (Tips please)

Glow Conversion + Update

This is my homebuilt vintage plane made from 3mm foam board. It’s extremely rigid and has 3mm plywood bulkheads inside as well. Currently, this aircraft weighs 410g and has a 700mm wingspan. The oil paint may not have been the best choice, but it too adds some rigid and I like the way it turned out overall. The plane is currently powered by a 2212 size 2200kv motor. Supplying that power is a 3s 2200 mAh lipo. The plane connects to my DX-6e via an AR620, though I might exchange it for an AR630 since those have SAFE and AS3X.

Now for the update: I love this aircraft so far, but I wanted to replicate vintage F3A and Pattern planes from the 80s. Despite mine being foam, one of the only main differences is the electrical system. Back then, nearly all radio controlled aircraft were powered by nitro or gas engines. Here’s where my plan comes in: a Cox .049 weighs so much less than my current electric system, and I can save around 200 grams of weight. A Cox .039 weighs around 50 grams and a small battery to power the receiver instead of a bug lipo can weigh as little as 40g, meaning that I can get the aircraft weight down to around 287g, reducing the weight by 30%.

While this conversion will require careful planning and testing, the potential benefits are significant. By replacing the electric power system with a lightweight Cox .049 glow engine, I can dramatically reduce the aircraft's overall weight while bringing it closer to the appearance, sound, and flying experience of the classic pattern aircraft that inspired its design. If successful, the result will be a lightweight, rigid foam-board aircraft that combines modern construction methods with the character and nostalgia of 1980s glow-powered RC aviation. Although there are challenges to overcome, including vibration, fuel proofing, and engine installation, the project represents an exciting step toward creating a truly vintage-style flying experience.

Thank you.

CRJ vs ERJ

I've flown on many airplanes throughout my life, and I've even been fortunate enough to fly a few myself.

The two landings you're about to see were performed by exceptionally precise pilots. One delivered a touchdown with all the grace of a falling piano, nearly sending me to the ER after using my spine as part of the landing gear. The other was so smooth I barely realized we were on the ground, restoring my faith in aviation butter at a time.

Both landings were accurate. One landed on the runway. The other landed in my heart.

While your watching, try and take a jab at which one was the CRJ landing and which was the ERJ landing.

Real Shelby Cobra?

I saw this car cruising around Greenwich CT where I live, can anyone tell me if it’s real? I might be able to provide more details about it, but I didn’t get that great of a view myself.

It did have a classic car plate for anyone wondering.

Thanks!

Maiden tips

I’ve designed this classic style pattern racer out of 3mm foam board.

Specs:

  • Weight (with battery) 511g
  • WCL: 12
  • Wingspan: 700mm
  • Wing chord: 164mm
  • Propeller: Master Airscrew 7x3
  • Motor: 2212 2200kv
  • Battery: 2200 mAh 3s
  • CG: 32% from leading edge at wing root

This plane won’t maiden for a little bit, I have to do some work in Portugal for a week but when I get back, I’ll fly it as soon as I get the chance.

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment them below and I will try to get back you.

Thanks!
