Why would my girlfriend say this?
Genuinely confused and I’ve been confused for days. I (21M) have been with my girlfriend (21F) for almost 3 years now and about last week we were scrolling through our camera roll’s, showing each other pictures and after a while, my girlfriend kept seeing pictures of me with friends or just pictures of me when she said and I quote “why do you look way better in person then in photos?”
We both laughed and i found it funny because I’ve always thought this way about myself I just never said anything. I asked her what looks different in photos compared to real life and she told me my face looks wider in photos but in real life it’s slim, other features like my ears look like they’re protruding and my nose looks wider but in real life my ears are hidden and my nose is small etc etc. Overall she said the photo looks like me in a sense but it doesn’t at all at the same time.
After we had a whole conversation about it, she told me to go into a mirror with her and as weird as it sounds we looked at each other standing side by side in the mirror, then looked at each other and she told me I look the exact same as in the mirror except my hair was flipped.
I’ve been thinking about this nonstop and now I’m wondering what I truly look like. I always thought I looked bad in photos and with my girlfriend pointing out that I look better in person, it has me wondering how people truly see me? Is there any facts based evidence that can back any of this up?
