So chunky!

Two rather plump noble false widows in my window and one of them is chowing down on this large moth.

Looking for mini bamboo like plant

Hiya, just wondering if anyone here has any ideas for a bamboo type mimic for a terrarium? Even dwarf bamboo species seem too big for what I’m going for. I want to mimic a miniature bamboo forest but I don’t know what sort of plant would paint that sort of picture. High humidity preference

Owning and breeding questions

Hi, I’m planning on getting a mantis soon, probably a ghost or Yunnan flower mantis. I’ve always wanted to have a side business breeding invertebrates but I’m intimidated to start. I’ll be keeping a pet this year but once I graduate Uni I’m planning on setting up a breeding business for mantises, spiders and isopods (at least). I have a lot of space but I don’t know anyone who does this sort of thing so I don’t have anyone to ask for details.

Just wanted to ask here for some tips on:

  1. Keeping my pet happy and healthy
  2. Trustworthy dealers
  3. Managing a large number of individuals and breeding

Any tips? Thank you :3

Advice needed for historic monument and building (England)

The site dates back to around C12 and has a lot of historic value because of its mixed uses over the centuries it has stood. The moatbank surrounding the property is listed as a historic monument and features the bases of two tower/turret type structures and an exposed flint wall surrounding about half of the perimeter. The building in the Center of the property is referred to as both manor and chapel, changing hands between the church, the crown and local lords. My great grandfather bought this house and farm property in 1918, he fixed up the old manor/chapel at the centre to be a house around 1960 to prevent it from falling down. More details and history in the attached images.

The issue is that it hasn’t had any work done since the 60s when it was renovated and it’s really starting to show. Unfortunately my family simply cannot afford to do anything to maintain this building, farming is not a profitable business. The building and moat wall are both at risk of falling down if they don’t get maintained. What can we do here? Is there a way to get funding for such a project? How much would it even cost to fix up the walls and archways?

What’s happening here?

Been observing this cabbage white caterpillar for a few days and I thought it was about to pupate but instead it’s got all these little larvae bursting out of it. Has it been parasitised?

It’s freaky to look at…
