Started investing this year and apparently the world is ending every week

Bro I finally started investing this year thinking it was gonna be some chill “buy good companies and hold” type of thing

Instead I open my phone every morning and it’s:

  1. Iran war headlines
  2. recession fears
  3. “AI bubble collapsing”
and now „OpenAI IPO will crash the market”

And can someone explain the weird obsession people have with hating Sam Altman specifically?
People online act like:
Anthropic = wholesome ethical saviors
OpenAI = evil capitalist supervillain

Bro… aren’t they ALL the SAME?
Either hate the whole industry or don’t.
The whole “Anthropic good / OpenAI evil” thing feels so random to me.

And honestly from an investing perspective… why do people even care THAT much about Altman personally?
A lot of massive companies were built by aggressive or controversial CEOs.
If the company keeps growing, most people stop caring anyway.

Same thing with Reddit stock hate.
I don’t even own RDDT shares before anyone starts, but every time I see people mention the stock, comments instantly become:

“trash company”
“dead money”

while they are literally typing that ON REDDIT…

Maybe I’m just new to investing, but finance discourse online feels insanely emotional right now.
One day AI is the future.
Next day the entire market is supposedly doomed.
Then AMD pumps another 5%.

I genuinely don’t know what people actually believe anymore

Should I sell my Gen Tissot PRX 80 to fund an APSF 15510 and a DDF 5711?

I’m currently facing a bit of a collection dilemma and would love some input from people who have been in the game for a while.

Currently, my only Gen is the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80. I love the 70s integrated bracelet vibe, it’s reliable, has a great power reserve, and obviously, it’s a gen „Swiss“ watch.

However, I’ve been lurking here for a while and the super clones are calling my name. I’m seriously considering selling the PRX (which would probably fetch me around $400-$500) and coming out of pocket a bit more to pick up two heavy hitters:

  1. APSF 15510 (Audemars Piguet Royal Oak)
  2. DDF 5711 (Patek Philippe Nautilus)

I know I’m basically trading genuine entry-level horology for high-tier reps pieces, which is a massive jump in terms of what I'm projecting on the wrist.

Movement Reliability: How are the clone movements holding up in the APSF 15510 (the 4302 clone) and the DDF 5711 (the 330 clone) compared to a ETA like the Powermatic 80?

Has anyone here sold their entry-level gens (Seiko, Tissot, Hamilton) to go full rep? Did you regret giving up the peace of mind of a gen, or did the aesthetic of the high-tier reps make it worth it?

Any advice, wrist shots, or reality checks are appreciated

Read some boomer book on risk management over the weekend, so I decided to finally play it safe and diversify.

Here are my strict new portfolio rules:

• 100% of port into $AMZN.

My broker keeps sending me weird emails about "margin calls" and "basic math," but I'm pretty sure Robinhood is just glitching again.

You guys think my 100% portfolio weighting will beat the S&P?

If this goes tits up, my wife's boyfriend said he'll at least buy me a 4-for-4 at Wendy's. See you on the moon or behind the dumpster.
