Update: I beat Stronghold Protocol burnout with a simple '2-window' routine (and it stuck)
Quick update after a rough week with Stronghold Protocol: I was this close to dropping the mode. Between work, planning a Disneyland trip next month (two teens eat like locusts), and trying to squeeze in Arknights at night, my usual pattern was start a run, get interrupted, come back, forget what I was doing, then wonder why I was even playing. It stopped feeling fun and started feeling like homework.
A few people suggested treating it as short, repeatable sessions instead of one long slog. I tried a 'two-window' routine for the past several days and it actually did the trick.
What I changed:
I only play in two windows: a 10-15 minute slot in the morning (coffee time) and a 20-30 minute slot after dinner. No "just one more".
I end each window by jotting a one-line note in my phone like 'next: push left lane, save burst for elite' or 'swap medic, need more slow'. It sounds goofy, but it fixed the context loss when life pulls me away.
If I fail a map twice, I stop and do something else (base, recruit, read the story). I come back in the next window instead of brute forcing while tilted.
Result: I finished the rewards I cared about without feeling trapped by the mode, and I actually enjoyed it more because my choices were cleaner. If anyone else is juggling life and feeling event fatigue, this was way more useful than trying to hunt down a free hour that never exists.
