Helena Urban Gardens needs your help.

Hi r/seedswap!

We are Helena Urban Gardens (H.U.G.) and we are working towards ending food insecurity in the Arkansas Delta. To do this we encourage and support local gardeners through community gardens, seed libraries, workshops and education. We are a state and federally recognized non profit, and we need your help.

Specifically, we need seed stock to propagate so we can give it away to our community. We have some seeds to offer in exchange. Please see the following list...

Cherry tomato

Grape tomato

Bread seed poppy

Chufa aka Tiger Nuts

Blueberries

Popcorn (yellow or white butterfly)

If you will send me a private message we can discuss making the exchange. We need ANYTHING FOOD. We arent picky. If it grows well, feeds people and you have plenty to share, we want to talk to you.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

H.U.G.

Spread the love?

We are a new channel committed to ending food insecurity in the Arkansas Delta, and it is our express desire to never say "like and subscribe!" in our videos. I won't even ask you to like and subscribe here, but I will ask you to come watch our videos, as having more views helps. But only like and subscribe if you want to- if you don't, don't.

I only want genuine likes and subscribers. We make videos about our garden and the things around it. Eventually we will have instruction videos for growing specific foods and how to videos for overcoming usual and unusual obstacles to food security. If you ever dreamed of growing all your own food, my channel is for you.

Thanks all🙂

Food/water insecurity is real

I live in an area where healthy food and clean water are difficult (or impossible) to find and expensive to obtain. For that reason I give my time to a non profit whose mission is to end food and water insecurity.

I am looking for ideas. My ideas include urban gardens, dedicated neighborhood food forests, seed and seedling give aways, education, public wells for clean water, and offering home garden support for those with enough yard to grow for themselves.

If you were on the board of directors for a non profit, what would you want to do to first to feed as many people as possible?

Thank you for your time
