Day 7 of learning UMVC3

Hey y’all sorry for the lack of post I’ve been really busy irl which caused me not to be on the game. So good news is I was able to clear out my magneto notes so all I have to do is practice his combos. I tried his advanced combos for a little bit but I the execution is VERY hard so I’m going to try to watch some videos dedicated to learning his loops (found some so hopefully the information is easy to understand). I just need to finish my X-23 guide, it’s just hard to find in detailed information about her that explains her moveset and what she does if I’m being honest so that guide might be a little difficult compared to the others. After I’m done with my X-23 notes then I am hard pushing towards learning combos and my movement (I’ll share my method of getting combos down when I make that specific post). Only things that I’m mainly concerned about currently is just X-23 and what she does, simple and advanced combos for my team (X-23/Dange/Magneto), and movement (regular wave dash and plink dash). If anyone would like to help please feel free to reach out and I’ll see you guys on the next update, can’t wait to get better at this game.

Day 6 of learning UMVC3

Was able to finish my Dante notes and my god that man has toooooo much going on lol I do feel very comfortable with Dante though and I can already tell that I’m going to have a lot of fun playing him. I’m now currently working on my magneto notes and I’m kinda intimidated about learning him due to his high execution but it’s very important that I learn him at the end of the day as he’ll be very important to the team. If anyone has any magneto tips or any tips about the movement (plank and wave dashes) pls feel free to let me know. I’m having a lot of fun learning this game and I can’t wait to get better at it.

Day 4-5 of learning UMVC3

Decided to mash days 4 and 5 into a post together since I accidentally missed a day. The learning process has been really well learned what a bold cancel was and I was able to do it pretty consistently with Dante so I’m happy. I’m currently taking notes on his guide and his sections are whopping my ass I did not know that this man had this many moves lmao. I was able to do my first combo with Dante so I’m happy now I just need to learn the other advanced stuff with him. I’m really starting to like him and he’s clicking with me very well. Gonna finish up my guides today or tomorrow then I’m going to fully focus on combos and movement (will 100% need help with these) as always if anyone has any advice for me please feel free to comment down below. Can’t wait to get better at this game, I’m loving it so far. (Combo video plus Dante notes are in the video)

Day 3 of learning UMVC3

Today was a short day for labbing due to me being busy but I took some more notes on X-23, watched a tournament video that someone here suggested, and I was able to do my first combo with X-23. The combo is bad I know but it’s a start. I also tried practicing wavedashing but it is soooooo hard so if anyone has any advice on how to wavedash please let me know. Tomorrow I’m going to finish up my notes then continue to lab. I can already tell that the combo structure, and movement will be the biggest challenges for me when learning, so I need to grind those out heavily. Can’t wait to get better at this game. I’ve been having a blast learning this game, and thank you to everyone who has been in the comments helping.

Day 2 of learning UMVC3

Today was a bit busy so I wasn’t able to do a whole lot, but I was luckily able to go through some guides for my team, and I have a list of things that I’d like to currently practice and get better with. I’m listing 5 things so that I don’t overwhelm myself when it comes to learning.

  1. Wavedashing, Plink dashes (both grounded and air), and air dash chaining. Movement seems to be really important in this game so I want to get as much practice in when it comes to the movement in this game, I feel like it will benefit me GREATLY if I practice this heavily.
  2. TAC infinite. Learning this will be important due to the “Dirt Nap” setup so I want to try to practice this as much a I can
  3. Devil trigger Dante. I want to know the differences between DT Dante and regular Dante.
  4. Basic combos for Dante, X-23, and Magneto.
  5. Learning more about the characters tools.

Of course all of this will not be learned in a day, and it may possibly take some if not a lot of time to learn, but I feel like I’m going in the right place especially with me taking notes. If anyone has any advice or would like to help me learn please fell free to reach out. I can’t wait to get better at this game. ❣️

Day 1 of learning UMvC3

Hi so yesterday I was talking about getting into the game. Today I was going through the mechanics and everything and ended up taking A LOT of notes, on top of the notes the people in the rise of rookies discord were really friendly and answered questions that I had about the mechanics as well as the characters, they also helped me pick out a team. I decided to choose X-23/Dante/Mag for my starting team and then when I’m better at the game I will learn other characters. Rest of the night and tomorrow will be focused on watching guides, learning combos, and watching tournament footage for the team. Hopefully this helps out I’m very excited to learn the game.

Day 0 of learning UMVC3

I’ve always wanted to play MvC competitively. I remember first playing the game when I was a kid when MvC3 dropped, the series has always had a special place in my heart and I want to become a competitive player instead of a casual enjoyer of the game. So I’m going to dedicate the next month to learning the game. I’m going to make daily post about learning the game, so if anyone would like to help pls feel free to, and if this motivates anyone else to learn it then that’s perfect.
