Nobody on StreetEasy replies

Title, I include my income, credit score, no pets, and ideal tour dates… still nothing. Are the phone numbers even real.

I’m out of state so I wanted to visit over the weekend before fully moving.

Is it just better to move there and stay at a hotel for 1-2 weeks and try to get an apt during those days.

How do people actually secure a tour?

What does “heat and hot water is included” mean exactly?

This may be dumb but in my out of state city the utilities such as Electricity & Water all come from the same utilities company without specifying if its cold or hot water.

So what does “heat and hot water is included” mean? So I’m still responsible for electricity, gas, and cold water? And if heating is included does that mean the apartment uses a radiator?

When to apply for a Sep 1 lease?

I’m out of state but don’t mind flying once to view apartments.

But when should I do it?

Many studios on street east say “available now” so is there a way to secure one I really like but have the least start on September 1? I don’t mind losing a few days so even the last week of August would work.

Or is it normal to move there and apply/sign a lease the same week?

Does Amazon deliver big boxes to Manhattan?

Maybe dumb question but if I order a big box to be delivered in Manhattan, will that not cause any issues? I always see the little Amazon bikes so idk if there’s ever regular Amazon Trucks for these types of items.

For example:

  • A desk
  • Gaming Chair
  • A bed Frame
  • A vacuum sealed foam mattress

If I request a tour, is that considered hiring a broker? Whats the correct process

Let’s say I’m interested in this apartment and would like to see it in person but will most likely want to submit an application anyways. What’s the correct process to move forward without being scammed into paying a percentage just for the viewing?
