Be Careful on Social Media
Hello,
Please don't ever donate to random GoFundMe's on Tiktok without verifying if there is enough information to be credible OR put ANY of your information in random websites on people's bios 😩. I just saw someone post (what I thought was very obvious) Ai content about being homeless/being a domestic violence survivor, and I was shocked to see that they have a GoFundMe in their bio with over $8K already, and people in their comments are literally sending them more money through Venmo/Cashapp. Their @ is huugsss0. I cannot 100% confirm it's fake, but the combination of Ai content, and not disclosing their full name or a real story (looks like it's written by Chatgpt because of the random bolding) signals that it may not be real. Again, this isn't the first account that i've seen like this.
Another thing I see a lot on Tiktok are Ai accounts that create fake student discount videos and ask you to put all your information in the website on their bio's. I thought they were obviously fake, but I was surprised to see so many people in the comments put all their information in and say "it didn't work" casually, as if they didn't just give all their information to a stranger.
I don't know if it's me being 21 and being an older gen-z where we were taught about internet safety, but it seems like teens and older people are so gullible when it comes to social media, which is very concerning.
