Why Exactly Did South Korea Have to Leave the World Cup?

I used to live in South Korea. I left not so long ago. I was fully expecting the South Korean team to do reasonably well, break out of its group and move on to the next stage.

This year, my focus was on my home country's team. But I wanted to check about Korea. I was shocked to realise your team has done so badly this time. I feel really sad for you. Your team have the capacity to do much better. Then I found out that the manager had also kept 손흥민 out of important games!

Why did he do this? What would have led the manager to make such mistakes? What about the players?

Mobile Router Replacement?

Hi there. I signed up to EE's mobile internet. I got my 4G wifi-2 device a while back. It worked fairly well, but at a slow speed, for over a year. Suddenly, a few days ago, it stopped working.

My phone picked up the signal with zero access to the internet. I took the device to the EE shop. They tried rebooting it and putting in a new SIM. There was still a problem. I still had no access to the internet. The staff said they weren't having problems-it must be my old phone, they said, not the EE device!

I tested this. A friend who has a new phone can't pick up the signal either. I tried signing in to my EE recently. If I go onto my phone, I can do so, but then nothing happens. If I do it another way I get error messages.

So, I am thinking of asking for a replacement device of the same type. What do you think?

Is There A Teacher Blacklist In Thailand?

I am an experienced English teacher. I have successfully taught in several locations, including South Korea.

I enjoyed my trips to Thailand, and I was delighted at the thought of teaching there.

The recruiter was Australian. He seemed very enthusiastic and positive. Of course, I lapped it all up, and I was very keen to get started. We started the visa process. I remember getting the letter of appointment that I was to send to the Thai Embassy in London. I nearly got the visa.

It was about then that I saw the daily schedule. Crikey! As the Aussies might say. I would be teaching from 9 a.m. to 6:30 Monday to Friday and maybe Saturday mornings as well. Most of this was actual teaching, not lesson prep. I decided that this was an impossible schedule-a warning. So, I pulled out of the application. The school, as far as I can remember, was a private middle school.

I was a bit naïve, to be honest. Korea has taught me to be far more sceptical and to check everything, and to get far more detail. Nowadays, I would ask for the daily schedule at the start of the process.

Much more recently, I applied for jobs in Thailand with lighter schedules. They all rejected me. Maybe it's because I am now older. But could the director of the middle school have put me on an immigration blacklist for pulling out of the application at the very last minute?

Also, what are private middle schools in Thailand like? (I don't mean international schools.
