​Hi! My wife and I are planning a trip to the DR in late October for the first time. We're debating between Joia Bávaro and Secrets La Romana.

​Our top priorities are good food and a swimmable beach. For context, we’ve been to Excellence Riviera Cancun and Secrets Akumal and loved them both (though we know Excellence isn't really for snorkeling). We're trying to figure out which of these DR resorts will give us the best water experience alongside great dining.
