Need to stay for another 6 months in Thailand for my 🐶

Hi I am Japanese and I stayed in Thailand on an ED visa for one year. I’ve now decided to leave Thailand permanently and return to Japan. However, I have a dog that I adopted in Thailand, and I need to stay with her for at least 180 days to meet the requirements for bringing her to Japan.

My ED visa will expire this month, so I’m planning to go back to Japan for two weeks and then return to Thailand. After that, I’m considering staying for 60 days on a tourist visa, extending it for 30 days, then leaving for about a week before coming back again for another 60 days plus a 30-day extension.

How risky do you think this plan is?

I can book onward flights as proof, but I won’t be able to provide hotel bookings since I’ll be staying in the house I’m currently renting, which still has six months remaining on the contract.

I understand that immigration decisions can never be guaranteed, but I would really appreciate your opinion on how risky this plan might be.

If this plan is too risky, I will simply apply for a second year of an ED visa. However, from a cost perspective, I would prefer to avoid getting another visa if possible.

Hi, my ED visa will expire this month. I will be leaving Thailand for two weeks and then returning to apply for a second-year ED visa after arriving Thailand.

My school in Chiang Mai told me that I need to cancel my visa at the Chiang Mai immigration office. However, due to personal reasons, I am currently in Hua Hin and may not be able to travel all the way to Chiang Mai because of the cost and time involved.

I understand that it’s safer to follow the school’s instructions to avoid any risks, but I just wanted to see if there are any other possibilities. Has anyone applied for a second-year ED visa without canceling the first one, and did you have any issues?

Thank you !
