"Not for resale" but "your customers will love it".

TLDR: "Unopened" boxes from China, with Japanese text, turn out to be repacked common cards with a few low dollar alt arts thrown in now and then.

Today I learned that there are people in this world that take old boxes, empty boxes of cards, and reuse them. They take the wrappers and either recreate them or fix the old ones to look like they've never been opened.

And they insert a bunch of common Japanese cards with a few uncommon and a basic rare because they know that they are less likely to be graded or authenticated duebto lower value.

I learned this when I went to a dealer in Asia with very competitive pricing. He let the cat out of the bag. I wish I could post his messages to me but he basically told me "noy to resell" them but also that "my customers would love them". It was absolutely wild. I took a sample box to a vard show and a vendor there took my empty box and compared it to one the card shop had on the shelves and pointed out subtle differences. So I give up on that now.
