[Yapping] The "Collectible Exchange" is basically invisible for a good portion of players. Thoughts on an Endgame Token Shop?

Hi, lurker here. Been playing the game for a while now, been loving it too. But i did notice some problems (problems, nitpicks, who knows) particularly about older (legacy) characters.

Currently, a lot of these characters (Zhu Yuan, Harumasa, Caesar, to name a few) are stuck in rerun jail. How long has it been since one of these popped up for a new rerun, event, to see the sunlight?

On top of that, pushing for Shiyu Node 5 or max stars in Deadly Assault feels kinda pointless right now. The HP inflation on those bosses is insane, and for what? A handful of Polychromes or a profile badge? Most people I know don’t even touch those modes because the reward doesn't match the headache. Yes, i know you can clear up to 4 nodes and 6 stars and still get a nice portion of said polys, but you're still not engaging with the last stages of said content because, like i said, not worth the headache if you're a new player, low spender, lazy player, just bad (me).

While i was busy hallucinating during my weekly chores in the game, i had an idea that i thought was worth sharing:

An Endgame Token Shop-

Think of it like the Collectible Exchange shop, but instead of selling your soul and credit card for a single copy of a standard character or their sigs, you get rewarded for consistency.

  • The Weekly Grind (F2P / Low-Spender friendly): Clear Shiyu Nodes 1-4 (S Rank) + get 6-Stars in DA = You get 2 Tokens total.
  • The Tryhard Tier: Go the extra mile, clear S+ Node 5 + 9-Stars in DA = You get 2 Extra Tokens. (Subject to adapt for when we get new endgame content)
  • The Shop: Put legacy 1.X limited characters on a monthly rotation. Standard S-ranks cost 10 tokens, Limited S-ranks cost 20 tokens.

This means if you play efficiently and optimize your teams, you can guaranteed a legacy M0 copy of a character you missed after about 2-3 months of solid gameplay.

It actually gives everyone a reason to tryhard and care about endgame rotations (instead of just giving up on Node 5 because the rewards are not worth the trouble or simply dont want to engage for pure flexing privileges). Plus, i think it solves the massive rerun bottleneck for HoYo without touching the revenue of new banners. Devs can still shill for the "new toys", Whales and people with actual savings (not me) can still get their faves on release but everyone can also get their legacy faves by actually engaging with the endgame content.

"Oh, but that would make people not want to engage with the content anyways since you get tokens for doing the bare minimum" yeah, true. But to that i say: A portion of players (enough for me to notice, and im practically disconnected from most of the community) already dont particularly engage if boss rotations aren't favorable, if at all. This would at least give an incentive to at least some of them to try and endure some of the dry patches to get that sweet, sweet Harumasa copy from the rotational shop.

"oh but thats just giving characters for free, Gachas live for the FOMO and scarcity" yes, true! But like i said before, this wouldn't take away the spotlight for new characters and banners. I think it can be balanced (not me, im just the guy with the idea/hallucination, not a game dev) for it to be a nice reward to consistency without making you break the credit card on a once-in-a-bluemoon spending event.

I dunno, would this break the economy? Am i tripping? I feel like this type of suggestions would make more sense to them over the "bring back my husband" or "Give more polychromes" flood (even tho i totally get it ;-;)

Feel free to roast me, yell at me, agree with it, post a meme, ill read it all <3
Edit: Numbers (as kindly pointed out) might not be accurate balance-wise, this is just a concept lol
