Early Draft for a TV Pilot. Read Caption first pls!
Hey Everyone. New to this subreddit & (kind of) new to screenwriting lol. I originally went to school for music, but integrated in my degree were a couple of a film courses (i.e screen-write). I recently just found a script from that exact class & it kind of hooked me back into the game. Intro to Screenwriting was probably one of favorite courses in college and finding my old script and rediscovering my love for screenwriting has me flowing with ideas.
Here is an early draft for a TV show called Ash & Testament. This series will follow a secret order of Black supernatural vampire slayers (The Gravekeepers) who are being hunted by vampires who are actually their enslaved ancestors (revenants). It’s ultimately a Southern Gothic/Action/ Horror/Drama that will tackle generational trauma, erasure, justice, vengeance, identity, inheritance, and spirituality. While also having strong supernatural elements.
And before you ask. No it’s not a rip off or another version of Sinners. 😭 But..
That’s basically the premise of it. Don’t wanna dive too deep into the plot of the whole story I plan to build bc this is just a preview of the pilot, but just wanted to give a bit of context. The full draft is about 40 pages. This is only the first 10. I’m already on Draft 4 of this script. What I’m showing you is Draft 1. So go easy, I know from a professional standard there’s a lot of shit wrong. I’ve read a lot the posts in here and yall are ruthless 😂.
But I’m literally just rekindling an old passion m with a broken memory of an Intro to Screenwriting course. I kind of have to reteach myself everything so please be mindful when giving feedback. But I would love to hear yall thoughts and opinions on this pilot and the idea as a whole.

There is a character within the script who views himself as a God like figure. So there will be many instances of him treating himself as if he’s God.
Also
I kind of cut it off before I got TOO deep into that dialogue. But towards the end of what I posted slaves will start to question their faith in God and question if he’s real.
Again, I cut that dialogue off bc I didn’t want Christian’s coming at my neck.
So If you’re a devout Christian who doesn’t like their faith being questioned or like when humans view their selves as God. Please do not engage with the script. Thanks!
