Shoes!

I am curious if anyone has used the glue on shoes?

How do they compare to steel?

How is the support with the composite material?

Does the glue damage the hoof?

I have a horse that requires fronts. Any attempt at removing the shoes and he goes lame - he has arthritis. He is an absolute sweet heart but you can see that nailing on the fronts causes him discomfort. And, he is still young, so I am looking at options to support his hooves and keep him comfortable as long as I can.

When I asked my vet about the different options out there, she mentioned that she has seen glue on shoes rip the hoof wall off. Which, of course, is terrifying. She also questioned if they can provide the support of a steel shoe. She ultimately recommended staying with steel.

I am still new to the game, and he is my first horse. I've done reading on the different options, but haven't found a whole lot out there.

So, does anyone have personal experiences they can share??

Vocal Changes

I am wondering if anyone has dealt with significant vocal changes after being in a high speed motor vehicle accident?

I was diagnosed with a mild-moderate TBI/concussion. It has been 10 weeks since the accident. And I still sound like kermit the frog. My voice is hoarse, if I talk too long it gets harder to talk at all. And my throat just hurts. To my ears my voice also just sounds very strange (and those that know me have said my voice has changed).

I have seen my doctor about this. And so far, I have no pin pointed reason for why this is happening.

When does one push for further treatment/workup? Or am I still within the acute phase of everything and just need to be patient and give it more time?
