Yeah, I'm going to be blunt on why I don't enjoy Tekken at all.
I'm not the best Tekken player. I'm not here to criticize how people play the game or tell someone how to enjoy the game. I'm just giving you all my perspective on things from my personal experiences that happen way too often than not. So anyone that plans to comment troll remarks or give advice like some therapist, just don't comment or you're getting blocked. It's as simple as that. Mods, I'd prefer you just disable commenting for this.

[The Issue]
Everytime I feel like hopping on Tekken, I go on with the mindset of just casually playing the game. I have experience from prior Tekken games which knowledge carries over, since characters I use like Shaheen have nearly the same moveset from 7, which I did play for around 2 years. If I hop on ranked, I rarely find any matches. So I can't really play ranked for matchmaking, since most of my free time will be waiting idle. And I may as well read or play something else.
The next issue is when I actually find opponents online, around my rank or higher. I am around the brawler rank but I've beaten some Fujin or above occasionally. When I get a lucky win, I still initiate rematch, expecting no re, which inevitably happens when I beat someone of a similar or higher rank. This is meh. But what gets me to the point where I have to report these players is when I start getting this unneccessary hate mail. And it will be some irrelevant stuff like I am a smurf or some no-lifer, when I rarely even play Tekken to begin with, which you'd notice if you looked at my ingame hours, which is so low due to life, which I assume most of us have.
The messages get to a point where I can't overlook them and have to report them to actual support due to my justice mentality. If you plan to send some racist stuff to me, I expect you're going to do it to others. And seeing some people play these games to escape reality, I will report you because the wrong person getting that type of hate could affect them mentally, in a bad way. And it's never that serious to the point where someone needs to send that type of hate. Just earlier today, I had a random player spam me because I was ignoring the messages. I had around 50+ messages of some random person spamming the same racist remark because they lost a simple match in Tekken. And this person was some Tekken Emperor. Idk much about the ranking but I assume that if you're a Tekken Emp, you should be conditioned to a couple losses. I even tried to re after the lucky win. But I got one and doned then spammed 50+ racist spam.
Another issue I have is that occasionally, when I run into the same players, half of the time, when I am on the offense, my game just completely freezes. I assume it's the server or what-not. But it feels unplayable for me. I can't just say they may be cheating since Tekken 7 lagged a lot due to server. So, I don't play enough to know who's cheating. I just see that I'm having a lot of laggy games. And this further pushes me away from enjoying the game, when I finally get an opponent that willingly wants to rematch. And unironically, I will still attempt a rematch because they at least finish their matches, win or lose. Still, resorting to rematching laggy opponents is not particularly fun.
So overall, I don't enjoy Tekken 8, personally. Maybe this is why I never come across other Shaheen players. Though I did face one. But that player didn't even finish a set. Just lost the first match, won the second match, and left on a draw. *shrug*
I'm just sharing this for others who are having similar experiences. I just say drop the game and pick it up later. I'll see if anything changes June. If not, I guess this game just isn't for me, which is normal. Not everyone can enjoy Tekken 8. It's fun to play locally though. So with people/friends irl, I will continue playing Tekken 8. But online, it's no-go for me.
