Hey everyone,
I’m planning to buy my first “serious” bike and I’m stuck between two options:
Used Triumph Speed 400 (2023/24 model)
Brand new Triumph Speed T4
My situation:
Budget: ~₹2.3L
I can pay full cash but also considering partial EMI
I do some IPO investing so keeping some capital liquid is useful
Riding will be mostly city + occasional long rides
I do care about performance and riding feel
What I’m seeing in the market:
Used Speed 400: ₹2.0–2.2L (5k–10k km range)
New Speed T4: ~₹2.3L on-road
My dilemma:
Speed 400 gives more power and seems like the “real” bike
T4 gives peace of mind (new, warranty, no risk)
Questions:
Is a used Speed 400 at ~₹2.1L actually a better deal than a new T4?
How big is the real-world performance difference?
Any reliability or maintenance concerns with the Speed 400?
What should I check specifically before buying a used one?
If you were in my position, what would you pick and why?
Would really appreciate honest opinions, especially from owners 🙏
