i 22F, have been with my 22M, boyfriend for 9 months now. he's originally from another state. he's living where we live now for work. he has met all my family, and i have actually flew back to his home state and met all of his family and friends. we have been amazing. we love each other a lot. recently, we have discovered that his job wil be moving him soon. i brought the idea of me moving with him up, and he said he was not ready to commit. i have told him before this conversation that i would move wherever with him, so it's not a surprise. he keeps telling me that when he moves, he really needs to focus on himself and get better for his own mental health. the thing is, he has been going to therapy and working on his mental health where we currently live, and we've been together that whole time. i don't know why i can't move with him and do the same there. he says it's a commitment and thinks i'm asking him to marry me, but im not. while moving states is a lot, if we ever broke up i could move home, or find somewhere else to go. he has directly told me he doesn't want to break up and that he loves me, but he really thinks we need to be broken up for us to move. long distance is not an option for either of us. right now we are taking some time apart so he can really think. i feel like he's just going to break up with me and has already made up his mind. what do you think? it's hard to understand because our relationship has been great, and he all of a sudden can't handle me moving in with him. we basically live together now. if he doesn't want to break up, why do we have to?
