Doing my first complete playthrough and noticed something

I just blew up the Prydwen (siding with the railroad) for the first time. I find it super funny and also sad that the aspirants on on board are the only NPCs that don’t attack when you go to plant the bomb. You can even talk to one and pass multiple persuasion checks to convince them you’re still chill.
It feels like Bethesda was like “the sole survivor doesn’t kill kids!”..only to have you blow them up 5 minutes later? The nuclear option just triggered and I feel like I’ll also be blowing up the kids at the institute?? They include so so few children in the commonwealth, there aren’t even child skeletons, so it’s almost comical that they have you wipe out an entire generation under the guise of being morally correct

Cold weather/rural organizing

Hi, I’m one of the organizers for Alaska DSA! We’re officially pre-OC with a LOT of statewide interest. We’re going into the colder months so events will become scarce, I’m hoping to get some advice from people who have experience organizing in a similar environment since it throws a huge wrench in public meet ups.

My questions:

What kind of businesses have allowed you to table or meet indoors?

What type of events have had the most positive reception?

Any fun ideas for member meet-ups, venue types or activities? (Non-alcoholic suggestions are appreciated, we have a few under 21’s)

(Unrelated to region—I’d love suggestions on how to rally older generations, maybe infiltrate their bingo halls or smthn)

TIA! I’m so proud of the momentum we’re creating, go DSA!!

Upcoming events?

Local Alaskan but not sure where to reliably find events in state. Are there any fun things going on in the main cities and towns until Labor Day? I’m willing to drive most places to enjoy what’s left of summer

Converting older generations to DSA

I’m one of the people in charge of outreach for my local DSA and I was curious what methods any of you have tried and found success with in regards to encouraging older people to vote for progressive candidates, or even align with the DSA. They make up the majority of the voting bloc here and most are moderate or right leaning so I’m anticipating a lot of “socialism killed my grandma” style arguments. Any tips are appreciated!

Get involved and vet your local candidates

I live in Alaska, where our governors seat is finally being vacated by Dunleavy. Most names in this race are relatively unknown, so I decided to find the most left leaning one (at the time) and do a zoom conference with him and other potential voters.

In this call, someone asked about his stance regarding building data centers in Alaska, which he brushed off saying “it’s not something we have to worry about affecting us.” I was really put off by this and stopped engaging in his campaign.

This week the fundraising donations were reported and almost all of his donations come from Anthropic employees in California.

If a candidate smells fishy, it might be because they swim with sharks
