M (23) F (20), my baby father has control issues and severe alcohol issues, my baby was born 10 weeks early and he barely went to the nicu and drank at home for most of it. Since she has been home (feb 10th) we have had 15 doctors appointments all together he has not attended and refuses too because “someone needs to be at work” even if he isn’t working and has smoked or drank he will use that excuse every single time. He has never been diagnosed with anything and refuses medical care or to look into deeper issues. I mentioned her 2 month adjusted appointment is coming up and they are looking towards vaccinations and he refuses and just keeps saying shes “too small” With the summer coming up and her being out at pools and the lake with us this summer (his family owns a lake place) i just feel as he isn’t taking be a parent seriously. nothing in his routine has changed at all and i cant even shower without asking. We live with him and i have options of places to go too. I just want to see this through and when he does parent its amazing. its like he gives 20% all the time and only to make himself look good when people are over.
