Am I being played?
Firstly for context i’m 18M and the man involved in this story is 20M, (in my country 16 is the age of consent so please bare that in mind) We started having a talking stage last year, we’d call every night and text constantly for 6ish months, He spent 1500$ ish too come down and see me for a couple of days as he lived a 7ish hour drive away, after he was down things were good and then bang… silence. Communication broke down and ultimately I unadded him off of everything on new years, I tried voicing how I was feeling and was met with, “i’m sorry I couldn’t be the person you needed,” mind you I was being left on delivered for hours, not being asked anything, and over all it looked like he couldn’t care less if I lived or died. I’m at work in march of this year and get a notification “____ has added you,” i’m honestly just confused, we’d stopped talking months ago and i’d moved on, but I get an apology speech about how he knew he was in the wrong and he was sorry for everything, I took it with a grain of salt but we kept messaging on occasion and it started leaning towards it being a, “thing,” again; before I am shammed in the replies for taking him back, I need you too understand that personality wise and appearance wise he was everything that I looked for, he was charismatic and sweet, very outspoken, looks like he’s always ready too smile, and he’s 6,4 and buff so sue me okay. He mentions that I should visit him, funnily enough I was already going too the city he lived in for an event so we organise that i’ll stay at his house after and we’ll spend some time together, so he picks me up after the event (which was 35min away from his house) while we’re pillow talking he starts apologising again, in one breath he’s missed me so much and was genuinely upset when I broke it off, among a list of words that seemed like accountability being taken, he admitted that he can be avoidant too a fault and that It genuinely hurt having me cut him off. All while we watching a show and he’s making jokes about how we’d be like the characters IF we were in a relationship.
We go too breakfast in the morning and he takes me too the airport he says how he’ll be in my part of the country soon and that I should come and see him, I get home and it’s the same old antics, leaving me on delivered
Again. He messages me, “hey handsome how are you,” I reply with i’m watching this doco in bed, then he kills the conversation, he said he was having a bad day, I try and ask why and bang he vanishes, I text him and hour like “hello?” He just goes “sorry.”
I’m now really not sure what too do, because in one moment his massively inconveniencing himself too spend time with me, monetarily and physically and but then some of his actions completely contradict this? I’m just not sure what to do from here on, some of his words feel so real and like he genuinely gives a shit, so do his actions, then poof it’s gone. What’s everyone’s read on this, is he just a damaged man child? Does he like me enough too not want to let me go but not enough too keep me??? When i’m with him it feels so real, it feels like he cares but so quickly it feels like I mean nothing.
