Do better

I’m genuinely disappointed with Marriott today.
My daughter and her husband had a trip planned, but life had other plans. Her husband was unexpectedly called back for deployment, so they simply asked to change their reservation to a later date.
Not cancel it. Not ask for a refund. Just move the reservation.
The surprising part? Expedia has been willing to help and work toward a solution, but Marriott has refused to make the change.
It’s hard to understand why a company that talks so much about hospitality can’t show a little flexibility for a military family facing unexpected orders.
Supporting our service members shouldn’t stop at discounts and marketing campaigns. Sometimes it means showing compassion when circumstances are beyond someone’s control.
Marriott, I hope you’ll reconsider. Doing the right thing for a military family would mean far more than enforcing a policy.
If you believe companies should show flexibility for military families when deployments unexpectedly change their plans, please share this post. Maybe together we can encourage Marriott to do the right thing.
