Finally found my first Northern Hawk-Owl [OC]

Photographed in Varanger, Norway.

On our first trip there, we spent about two weeks hoping to see a Northern Hawk-Owl and didn’t find a single one. On the second trip, with much lower expectations, we somehow ended up seeing seven within two weeks.

This one was spotted from the car. We parked, approached slowly, kept a respectful distance, and left before the owl did.
Definitely one of my favourite owl encounters, it was so peaceful :)

Photographed on Praslin, Seychelles, last summer.

The Seychelles Black Parrot was one of the birds we most wanted to see on the island, but we weren’t sure how difficult it would be to find one. We thought we might need a guided tour or a lot of luck.

Instead, we arrived at our accommodation, heard them calling around the village that evening, and the next morning found them feeding in a bilimbi tree nearby.
The encounter felt almost unreal. So calm, close, and completely unexpected.

I was driving along a road in Norway, Varanger, when I spotted this beautiful fox. I stopped the car, photographed it for a while and then figured that it would be fine to leave the car without the fox running away. Somehow the fox felt very comfortable with me and was rather curious than shy. So I sat down on the ground and just kept photographing it. It was a very nice encounter :)
