Posting on behalf of my friend: Qatar Airways changed my itinerary twice — now I’m paying for their mistake

Booked Toronto → Nagpur with Qatar Airways through a third-party website, specifically because Qatar was the only option that got me to Nagpur.
First, Qatar changed my arrival airport from Nagpur to Mumbai, leaving me to figure out my own connection. I had no choice but to accept it because a refund would mean finding another flight at a much higher price. I then spent ₹25,000 booking a separate Mumbai → Nagpur flight.
My original Qatar arrival was 2:05 PM, and my domestic flight was at 5:55 PM, giving me 3h 40m for immigration, baggage, and check-in.
Then Qatar changed my arrival time AGAIN — from 2:05 PM to 2:50 PM. Now I’m left worrying whether I’ll even make my connecting flight.
The worst part was the back-and-forth between Qatar and the third-party booking website, with each blaming the other.
I’m honestly shocked at how stressful and unreliable this experience has been. I just hope everything goes smoothly on the travel day.
First and last time flying Qatar. They’ve already lost a customer.

Airline denied complimentary hotel despite 9+ hour layover — what can I do?

I’m flying from Toronto to India in November, and I have a 9-hour layover on my inbound journey and a 14-hour layover on my outbound journey.
I submitted an online request for a complimentary hotel, but it was denied with the reason that my layover should be more than 8 hours. However, both of my layovers are already longer than 8 hours.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Do you think calling the airline directly could help and they might approve the hotel manually? Or is there another way to request/qualify for the complimentary hotel?
Any advice or personal experiences would be really appreciated!
