Booked my tickets back in April. My flight is in 10 days and still i haven't received my visa. Its been over a month since I applied. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any advice?

My flight time was changed 3 days before departure and I now have a 2 hour connection in Doha.
I’ll be flying economy from the US with my toddler, and I’ll be the only parent/adult traveling. I’m a little worried about whether 2 hours is realistic with security, walking between gates, possible delays, and managing a toddler alone.
Has anyone done a similar connection through Doha with a young child in economy? Is 2 hours usually enough, or should I try to push Qatar to move me to a longer layover since they changed the flight so close to departure?
Any tips for transiting through Doha with a toddler would be appreciated.
I have always wanted to fly business class, and I am tempted by these upgrade offers.
Do you think it is worth taking one now, or is it better to wait until a couple of hours before departure in case the price drops? What would you do?
Salam everyone, I’m back again with freebies. I have a few complimentary airport lounge passes available to give away at Doha Airport on September 6th and September 15th for the Qatar Gold & Platinum lounge. If you'll be traveling through Doha on either of those dates and would like a free lounge pass, please send me a private message. The passes will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Safe travels!
Hello, I am taking 4 flights one from uk to doha and doha to japan and back and I’ve seen the seat selection previous to the check in and the prices are crazy, its like flying with an extra person. Once check in open its my understanding that you can get seats for free, can you select from the remaining ones or is it assigned automatically, i’m flying with my wife and it’s important to seat together since she is scared to fly. There is 4 flights in total and I have booked seats for 2 but I was hoping i could select the other ones when doing check in for free
Twice now I've had stopovers of more than 10 hours in Doha. Each time, I called ahead or sent emails asking about their transit accommodation. Each time, I was told it was complimentary and that I just needed to let the staff know on arrival.
If you hold an African passport, I bet you can relate. They'll give you the runaround and then reject your transit visa without any explanation. Rejecting the visa is one thing. Rejecting it without a reason is bad enough. What is absolutely deplorable is refusing the visa while also not providing the in airport accommodation you promised, or allowing me to obtain the transit visa beforehand. When you call, they insist there's no need because it's "almost automatic," only for you to end up spending 15+ hours in their shitty airport, eating shitty airport food, before another 13 hours in a cramped airplane.
If you're African, don't bother relying on the transit visa process. Don't let them gaslight you about the hotel accommodation either. Ethiopian Airlines treated me far better, which, at this point, doesn't surprise me.
The most recent time, I had enough time to sit and watch them reject more than 20 Africans back to back. I eventually asked if they rejected everyone. The staff member smugly replied, “No, we just approved some people right before you.”
So I asked the obvious follow up question: “Were any of those people African?”
The look I got was answer enough.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
I recently had trouble with qatar airways check in specifically my student benefits were not applied to baggage.
Is there any email to directly contact with a complaint anyone know about? I googled filled out the normal complaint and got an extremely generic response that did not solve my problems. Contacted global office via phone, they were not much of a help.
Is there anyone else I can contact? any specific customer service email adress I can get in touch with?
I have a long layover in Doha for almost 20 hrs. Any good lounges activities if you are a frequent flyer?
Hey, good evening guys.
Second time traveling to Doha next month and this time I’m taking my mother with me. We’re flying Q Suite with a 2 day layover there.
My fare is “P” and her’s “R”. So her ticket had the Al Mourjan included and mine’s not.
We have the Al Maha Lounge included by our credit card for free.
My point is, since I want her to enjoy her ticket benefit… is it worth it paying around $120 to access one of the Al Mourjan Lounges and go with her during a 7h stop?
If yes, should we go to the south or the garden? Or try to switch between these two…
Ps: Never accessed these lounges before… only the Al Maha.
Hi everyone,
I know this is a long shot, but I thought I’d ask anyway.
I’m trying to travel to visit my family, and the ticket prices are honestly insane right now. I was wondering if anyone who works at Qatar Airways has an extra buddy pass they’d be willing to let me use.
We can negotiate the commission
I know it takes a month that’s why I’m trying to find a solution from now
Hi everyone,
I'm genuinely looking for opinions from people who travel frequently or work in the airline industry.
Two months ago, I booked a single itinerary directly through the Qatar Airways website.
My itinerary was:
Everything was booked directly with Qatar Airways under one booking reference and one e-ticket.
I noticed that the first flight was operated by VietJet, so I did wonder whether I might need to enter Vietnam and check in again.
Because of that, I reviewed the information provided by Qatar Airways, including my e-ticket and booking confirmation, to see whether there were any transfer requirements or warnings. I could not find any indication that I would need to enter Vietnam, collect my checked baggage, or check in again for my onward Qatar Airways flight.
Based on the information provided by Qatar Airways, I understood this to be a normal connecting itinerary and therefore did not apply for a Vietnam visa.
When I arrived at the airport on the day of departure, I was informed that I had to enter Vietnam, collect my baggage, and check in again. Since Taiwanese passport holders need a visa to enter Vietnam, I was denied boarding.
I immediately checked whether I could obtain an urgent Vietnam visa, but that wasn't feasible within the required timeframe. To avoid cancelling my entire Europe trip, the only practical option was to purchase a different ticket via Hong Kong on the same day, which cost me an additional fee.
I later contacted Qatar Airways. Their response was that passengers are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary visas and travel documents.
I completely understand that principle.
My question is slightly different.
If you were booking this itinerary directly from Qatar Airways as a single booking, would you have expected that you needed to enter Vietnam to collect baggage and check in again?
Or would you have expected Qatar Airways to clearly disclose that requirement during booking?
I've attached a redacted copy of the e-ticket and a screenshot of the recent booking page for reference. And I'm genuinely interested in understanding whether my expectation was unreasonable, or whether you think this kind of transfer requirement should be more clearly communicated.
Thanks in advance!
Hi everyone, we booked a flight a few weeks back with about 6hrs layover. Now Qatar changed it to a >10 hrs layover. The flight is in January. Ticket prices went up quite a lot since we booked. What should we do? Has it ever happened that they will somehow put that flight back like before?
Thank you for your help
I had a really disturbing experience with Qatar Airways at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced something similar.
At the boarding gate, my carry-on was singled out and weighed. It was over the 7 kg carry-on limit. I was traveling with a friend whose carry-on was well under the weight limit. I explained that the laptop in my bag belonged to her, along with some of her belongings, and offered to transfer them into her bag. The staff weighed her bag, confirmed it was within the limit, but refused to let us move anything.
Instead, I was told to either throw away my belongings or pay the excess baggage fee.
I was forced to throw away most of my clothes and personal belongings because my carry-on exceeded the 7 kg limit. After getting rid of almost everything, I told the staff I couldn't throw away anything else because almost everything left in my bag was medication.
I'm a kidney transplant recipient and take lifelong immunosuppressant medication. Because my immune system is weak, I also travel with extra medication, including antibiotics and medication for diarrhea. These are medications I consider necessary whenever I travel.
By this point, every other passenger had already boarded. I was the only passenger left at the gate, surrounded by about 6–7 Qatar Airways staff members, having to explain my medical condition in front of everyone. It was one of the most humiliating experiences I've ever had while traveling.
I was then asked to sign an internal document that contained my name and seat number. Before signing, I wrote that I was being forced to discard my belongings.
After reading my note, a female supervisor became upset and told me Qatar Airways could sue me because of what I had written. She then demanded that I sign another document and made me delete the photo I had taken of the first document. She stood beside me and watched me delete it. I was told that if I refused to sign and delete the photo, I would not be allowed to board my flight.
I completely understand that airlines have every right to enforce their baggage policies, including carry-on weight limits. I am not complaining about the 7 kg rule itself. What I cannot accept is how I was treated. Enforcing a baggage policy should not involve humiliating a passenger, and threatening them with legal action for writing on an internal document or demanding that they delete a photo from their personal phone as a condition of being allowed to board.
I've flown Qatar Airways several times in the past, always in Business Class, and every trip was excellent. This was my first time flying Economy with Qatar Airways, and the difference in how I was treated was shocking. I'm still shaken by what happened, and after this experience, I don't think I'll ever fly Qatar Airways again.
I don't have a big enough suitcase to carry 25 kgs in a unit.
Is it possible to checking two small suitcases with 12.5 kgs each with the separate 7kg cabin baggage as well? Like a total of 3 suitcases?
Hello! I’m travelling soon and I wanted to know is it allowed to have my Mounjaro injection in my personal bag ( at plane), I do have a prescription and I am removing the needle head. Any idea?? Or should I put it in my checked in luggage ( cargo).
My Akl Doh flight was rerouted via Adelaide. Does anyone know, if I have to go through customs in Adelaide and thus will need a transit visa? I'm from a country that is usually visa exempt if the transit is less than 8 hours.
Is a 2 hour layover in Adelaide enough time to transit?
Thanks
Does anyone know if your personal bag (a tote bag) is weighed as part of the 7kg weight limit? I am flying from hanoi and including my tote bag, I an overnight the 7kg limit.... hoping i can squeeze a couple of kg into my tote bag (it is not big) to save on the hold cabin bag
Did that happen to anyone or those are just rumors to discourage people from doing chargebacks?
Has anyone taken this stroller with them for the infant? I don’t want to take it on the plane, but I need it during it at the airport. I know they allow strollers, but this one is a two-piece stroller. The car seat comes off separately, and the stroller is separate. Will they let me take this stroller? I don’t have any other stroller except this one.
I have a layover tonight from midnight until 7 am & have a pass to bring someone in to the silver lounge. We just have to go in together, I think. I don’t want anything from you, totally free. :)
