Hello! I am making HSTs for the first time for the ghost party quilt. Their instructions say: Using 1 Piece A background fabric and 1

Piece A ghost fabric align RST. Mark a

diagonal line on the back of one and sew

along line.

Trim ¼” to one side of sewn line.

Press open. Trim to 3.5” sq. if needed.

But all the videos I've watched say to put right sides together, mark the diagonal line and 1/4" seems, sew the seems and cut on the diagonal line. If I do this will I get the same result?

I have some knitting for olive heavy merino and mohair I purchased to knit a sweater when I went down a knitting journey a while back. Turns out I prefer crocheting!

Does anyone have any pattern recommendations? A sweater or blanket? Would it work for mosaic crochet? I like making blankets with repeating patterns so maybe a star blanket?
