Lately napapaisip ako, I’ve reached a point in my career where I'm expected to lead projects and campaigns (SME / key resource, edging into middle management), pero I never really had a formal mentor.

Wala yung consistent na “check-in person” to sense check career decisions, goals, or even just sanity-check how I’m approaching things. Most of what I’ve learned came from being in the weeds, figuring things out, and working alongside different people across teams.

So now I’m wondering:

  • Am I missing out by not having a mentor?
  • Or is this more common than I think?
  • In a way, did we just “mentor each other” through peers, bosses, and teammates over time?

I’ve seen people climb without a clear mentor figure, but at the same time, parang ang daming advice out there about how important mentorship is.

Curious to hear from others in mid–senior roles, did you have a mentor, or did you figure things out as you went?

Any advice or stories from your end would be great!
