How can I make the armour of my character look more like it was painted on?
Been working on an avatar and their expressions for a YouTube channel I want to start! The idea is that they are a little insane and think they are a hero but aren’t. Their perception of a hero is a knight so the armour is just painted onto the hoodie, the headphones and mask are painted to look like a knight visor, sword is a painted stick etc. I’ve been trying to rack my brain over how to convey the drawn/painted on look to the armour but I’m struggling to figure out something that looks good. Was wondering if I could pick your brains on how best to go about it? 1st is with Armour with regular lineart, 2nd is armour with a scratchy brush, 3rd is Hero with sword. Any other suggestions to improve the design are welcome also!
