Man, this was not easy. But today was finally the day I packed it all up.
I loved this game. 500 hours since launch of solid fun, thrill, excitement, joy, frustration, anger, all of it in one experience. But I realized today as I ran out of being able to fully fuel that I was doing what I said I’d never do for months - hopping on just to refuel my base. So I decided it was finally time.
I fell out of love for the game due to my own failings, not the games. My friends said they were going to come back for Chapter 2. I grinded the fuck out of the deep desert, constantly running it while I was at work, late nights, etc. so I could have material for them to come back to. They never came. And it crushed my desire to play.
Attached are screenshots of my forever base from August to February and its transitional phases it went through. I learned HOW to build a base from this game and man it opened my eyes a lot on things. I will forever be grateful for this game.
I just want to say thank you Funcom for bringing Dune to life in a game. I plan on coming back, but right now I just have to face reality that I’m not even playing and give it a break. Wish all the players still having fun the best of times 🧡
