Hi. I have been reading some of your posts about fleas. I have been having them in my house for over a week now. before I found you I did hours upon hours of research and reading. I haven’t been seeing too many but just one or two every once in a while. I haven’t a few questions about the things I’ve done already and some about other things I’m concerned about.
My dog passed away Jan 22 but she had fleas when she did, that I wasn’t aware of. all of a sudden they appeared in my house even without her here. I’m assuming this was the eggs and pupae hatching 3 months later. I have vacuumed the floors, baseboards and sofas. I removed all of my rugs and placed them In a sealed plastic bag. put them outside in the shed. However I was just reading that doing that won’t kill them. so what can I do about all of my area rugs?
also, the products I have used were what I found had the best reviews and results for many. I read about cedar wood killing and repelling them. I made a mixture of witch hazel, water, cedar wood essential oil and eucalyptus essential oil In a spray bottle. After vacuuming I sprayed it everywhere. In the baseboards as well. After it dried I sprayed everything with Adams flea and tick carpet and home spray with an igr in it. I also spray the essential oil spray on me every few hours and they stay off of me. I haven’t been but once since doing this. I also sprayed it on a flea in my bed and it killed it immediately. One of my questions is will this work long term? If not I’ll try the products you suggest. The Adams spray says to reapply it in 2 weeks. Also, when I vacuum do I have to do the baseboards and furniture every time? It’s so hard to move my furniture around to get to the baseboards. Also, some of my furniture I absolutely can not move. It’s too big and heavy. Didn’t know what to do about that. Lastly, my house floods sometimes so I have one room where there is a lit of things piled up in there. I can’t really vacuum or get to the baseboards in at least half of that room. Didn’t know what to do about that. Then in 2 of the bedrooms there is carpet. So I just spray it and vacuum it? What do I do with all my childs toys and stuffed animals all in her room? So much to try to understand. I’ve done a lot of reading but these questions were not answered anywhere that I could find.
