Looking for an RTS that focuses on micro rather than macro gameplay.

I’m looking for an RTS style game that allows me to command an army of units in PVP gameplay. However, I’m looking for there to be no real macro gameplay. No base building, unit production, resource gathering, etc. Instead, I’m looking for the focus to be on the micro gameplay—unit movement, counters, scouting, etc.

The only game I’ve ever played like this was the Myth series (The Fallen Lords, and Soulblighter) but I’ve never found any like them. Would love to hear any recommendations!

TL;DR: looking for an RTS style game, but without the macro gameplay (no base building, unit production, resource gathering, etc.)

Looking for a multiplayer game (PvP not coop) similar to Myth 2: Soulblighter.

My favorite games of all time are Myth: The Fallen Lords and Myth 2: Soulblighter, but I’ve never found a game that plays similar.

If you’re not familiar, it played like a traditional RTS game EXCEPT it had no macro gameplay (base building, resource gathering, etc.) instead, at the start of each match players used an allotment of points to purchase different units that would then be used as their army for that match. Battle would then begin and the focus was on micro gameplay like, positioning, scouting, countering, etc.

I’ve found a couple games that play similar to the single-player style of Myth (games like Nordic Warriors), but they don’t have PvP multiplayer, and that’s what I’m really looking for. I’ve played plenty of RTSs but the macro gameplay just doesn’t don’t do it for me.

TL;DR: I’m looking for a multiplayer game (PvP, not coop) that plays like an RTS (commanding an army in real-time battle) but doesn’t require the macro game play (base building, resource management, economy, etc.) and instead focuses on micro gameplay only.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Newbie question

Hello all! I’m new to the game. Just hit 11k for the first time. I know it’s not much, but it was a big step for me haha.

My question is regarding the black ghosts in the final wave. Is there some trick to being able to maneuver with them knocking you around? Once they show up, I’m just a rag doll being bounced around until I eventually land in a corner and can’t keep up with healing or killing.

Is this just how it goes, and by this time I should have my build optimized enough to survive while being more or less afk? I imagine there’s more skill involved, but I haven’t figured it out yet haha.

Any help is appreciated. I’d love to hit 100k at some point. Thanks!
