Looking for mobile game timewasters with active gameplay

Looking for a mobile game to be my preferred mobile timewaster. I have an iPhone17e. Can be paid or free but it should be something I can play for a long time

Please don't recommend:

- Games with idle or automatic gameplay

- Games that are similar to Candy Crush

- Turn based RPGs with P2W elements

- Games primarily centered on PvP leaderboards

- Games that demand a lot of time, such as ones with daily rewards that take a long time to max out

- Games with lengthy story/dialogue sections between gameplay

- Slay the Spire (I already play this)

Another Wife Question

I've been trying to get my wife into this beautiful hobby for a long 13 years. I've tried many different games - Stardew, the Telltale suite of games, Baldur's Gate 3, It Takes Two/Split Fiction, Journey, Unpacking and quite a few others. I have FINALLY found one she clicks with: the beautiful indie exploration game Caravan Sandwich. She loves driving around, exploring the ruins and finding collectibles.

She doesn't like anything with enemies, time pressure, or really any game where she "dies". This is stressful to her. Her main goal with gaming is to relax but doesn't want anything boring. For example she got bored of Telltale, Unpacking and Stardew, Journey was too esoteric, It Takes Two was a little too frustrating and Baldur's Gate 3 was well, Baldur's Gate 3. This is like finding a needle in a haystack. What other games out there are like Caravan Sandwich?

Just Finished My Setup… What Game Should Be My First?

Finally finished setting up my gaming setup after a long time saving/upgrading 😭🙏

Now I’m at that point where I open Steam and have no idea what to play lol.

What’s a game you played recently that genuinely hooked you? Could be anything honestly — story games, open world, multiplayer, indie, hidden gems, whatever you think everyone should experience at least once.

Would love to hear your recommendations 👀

Looking for some help please!

Sooo I may see some of the same people here from my last thread but basically I got some advice to get my boyfriend a disk drive for his birthday, so I got one and now I’m looking for a bit more help! lol again I’m not big into gaming or know much about it, as much as I ask it’s just a different language but I fully support his hobbies!

So I want to get him a game or two or whatever you guys suggest! I’ll give some examples of games I know he likes and maybe you guys could go off that (hopefully)!

\-call of duty series
\- any racing games really
\-the division
\- the backrooms
\-resident evil
\-and games that involve a story
Basically, shooting, cars, and horror but he is always down to try something new! Thank you!!

Which one to get to distract my mind for a bit

Hey everyone, I’m currently playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and while I do like it, I think I’m getting a little burned out from the huge scope/open world pacing. I kinda want something more compact, fresh and stylish before continuing.

Right now I’m considering:

- People of Note

- Dosa Divas

- Starbites

- Echo Generation

Which one would you recommend and why? If there are any other you think I should try feel free to name them but these 4 are the ones on my radar, I have xbox, ps5 and PC (Rog Ally) so anything in those platforms would work

My review of diablo 4 as a complete ARPG noob

Well, i'll keep it short:

I've been a fps player all my life, mostly played counter strike, some gta, some mario games etc. Never had interest in any ARPG games, they always looked kind of weird and nerdy to me (Like sweaty asmongold type nerdy).

Well, i was bored as hell and saw diablo 4 on sale on steam so i said "fuck it, why not try it?". I paid, downloaded it and opened it up for the first time.

Well, fast forward 3 days and i'm level 60 and through the whole campaign. IM HYPED. This story is fucking AMAZING. I've not been this invested into a game since cyberpunk. Besides this weird "tree of the forest" shit where i just run from one place to another for like 3 hours, this story is a legit 10/10 in my opinion.

I didnt even hesitate and instantly bought the Vessel of Hatred + Lord of Hatred DLC. Welp, another day later and im level 70 and also finished the Vessel of Hatred campaign. Im mad. It sucks. Like, seriously. Its just boring. It feels like a chatgpt written story. It just felt soulless....

Well, i hope the LoH story will be better again. I'm a complete ARPG noob obviously and have no idea about how to rate any of the game mechanics or stuff like that, i can only rate the story at this point, but i can already see myself becoming a sweaty asmongold sub who's grinding endgame 12 hours a day within the next 3 months lmao

Looking for single player action games with more DOTs

One of my favorite classes in WoW was the affliction Warlock. I just liked seeing one mob die of some damage over time spell while I killed another with shadow bolts. Lots of turn -based rpgs have dots, and lots of rpgs let you use poison, etc, but few of them ever feel as powerful as my Warlock.

Are there any action games, or action rpgs that really let you lean into the dots, and control the battlefield with miasma and fire?

I play on PS5, Series X and Switch

Thanks.

Should I buy Devil May Cry Bundle on Steam?

Saw the anime, and I absolutely love it, wasn’t sure if I should play the games. If anyone can give me their thoughts on if it’s worth playing, greatly appreciated.

Player-driven, massive space game where you can fly around on a ship with your friends?

I like the gist of EVE Online, but I would love to find a game where you control a person instead of a ship and actually do stuff aboard, while still making cargo runs, fighting other ships, etc. Is there anything like this?

It would be cool if you could wander around on a space station like the Citadel from Mass Effect, too.

edit: Ideally ships controlled both by NPCs and other people (PvP and PvE)

Business game with a realistic economy

Hey guys! I need a game (PC) where you can form more than 1 company and grow your businesses, with in-depth logistics but the most important thing I want is a realistic economy with stock markets and all. Besides capitalism lab, is there any good modern game like this?

Graphics is not that important for me but competition (from AI) and markets must be realistic. Looking for single player offline games only, preferably on Steam.

Thanks a lot!

Anything similar that’s on ps5 would be greatly appreciated. I saw vids of quarantine zone and got crushed that it wasn’t on ps5 so anything similar would be great
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Looking for a city builder/ building focused game where you still control a character (not overhead or god pov style games)

any platform is fine, i don't mind emulation
bonus points if theres a character creator, has a less realistic artstyle, has rpg elements or is in a fantasy setting.
closest thing im looking for i guess would be the dark cloud games which i definitely need to check out

PC game recommendations that I can sink hundreds of hours into?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for new PC game recommendations because I really want something I can properly get invested in and sink hundreds of hours into that's different from the list of games I seem to just create new saves on..

I love solo games that focus on planning, decision-making, and progression. I really enjoy slower-paced, relaxing gameplay where I can build, customise, organise, upgrade, and create something that feels grand, personal, and long-lasting.

Games I’ve played, replayed, and absolutely loved:

  • Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  • Disney Dreamlight Valley
  • Stardew Valley
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard
  • Hogwarts Legacy
  • Super Mario Odyssey
  • Life is Strange
  • Prey
  • Literally all of The Sims franchise

What I seem to love most is:

  • cosy/life-sim elements
  • character creation or customisation
  • decorating, collecting, building, farming, crafting, or upgrading
  • strong story and emotional investment
  • immersive worlds I can get lost in
  • exploration and discovery
  • power progression
  • games with lots to do long-term
  • a sense of progression or “just one more day/quest” addiction

I’m not really looking for anything brutally difficult or purely combat-focused. I don’t mind combat at all, but I need more than just fighting. I like story, world-building, characters, collecting, customisation, or some kind of cosy/progression loop.

Only looking for PC games, please.

What would you recommend for someone with this taste? I’d especially love suggestions that genuinely have that “this could become my new obsession” feeling and no other games have hooked me recently but I needa new game desperately.

I‘m weird please help me find a game 🙂

Friends!

Please help me find my next game. I noticed something weird: I love (reasonably) challenging combat focused games with great progression & high skill ceiling, which would naturally put me in the camp of souls likes. BUT I noticed I simply don't enjoy trying a boss 40 times until I know every single moveset. Not saying it's bad and I've done it plenty (Nioh series, Elden Ring, Lies of P, etc.), but just noticed it doesn't give me that much satisfaction, even when I beat the boss ultimately. However I do enjoy perfecting my build and honing my own combat skills much more. Is there any game that doesn't have this "you gotta learn all the telegraphed movesets before you can defeat the boss" kind of mechanic but is still challenging and requires you to get good at combat or am I doomed? Thanks!

Looking for interactive fiction/movie-like games

I am looking for games that feel like you are stepping into a movie where your choices matter. I love a cinematic cut screen. Something similar to the Life is Strange franchise, The Quarry, and Detroit Being Human (though I don't like futuristic/dystopian element as much).
