Proposal of a block by Location/City feature

Hey everyone, I was thinking about a privacy feature that I feel is missing from current social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok.

Right now, if you want a public profile to share content or grow an audience, you are also forced to be visible to people you know in real life (neighbors, coworkers, local acquaintances). Sometimes you just want to express yourself without the awkwardness of people from your own town watching you.

I think it would be amazing if platforms introduced a feature to optionally make a (public) profile invisible only to people who might know you locally or from your same city (or even more than one, why not, you never know hahaha).

Currently, the only options are going fully private or manually blocking people one by one, which is exhausting.

I would like to propose this feature to at least Instagram and TikTok. You know, sometimes you want to put your projects out there and not near here😂😂😂

Am I the only one?😂😂😂

Series-like games that captivate you entirely like Detroit: Become Human or The Pillars Of The Eart?

Looking to detach my brain completely. that means I need something that engages me as much as possible, so:

- a cheap trill, like, the lower the better

- a series-like game

- 2D/3D (no minimal pixel art)

- possibly with all lines dubbed

- story-driven

- your choices make the story

- engaging gameplay that gets you focus comple on the game

- not a static game (like VNs etc.)

- no open world exploration (especially endless ones)

- no GDR battles and stuff

- no first person POV (at least if the game’s circumstances are not stimulating enough)

- full of cutscenes

- genres I love: dystopian, historical, realistic

- genres I don’t dig: horror, fantasy

(already played game that fit the description: Deponia)

(games that fit the description but whose premise didn’t intrigue me: Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Life is Strange (I actually played it but the setting are too cliché to capture me), The Walking Dead Series (the art style doesn’t capture me at all :())

(games that could fit the description but I haven’t tried yet: Assassin’s Creed series, Dispatch, Stray Gods)

Thank you in advance my ladies🥹💖

I wanna start learning.

I decided. I want to study everything I need to make a future great enjoyable a little dynamic visual novel-ish 2D game: from coding, music making, trailer/animation making, marketing, marketing on social media, marketing on Steam to have the greatest reach.

My strong point is writing and I'm already familiar with drawing (I've studied to an Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in Comics and Illustration), a bit of coding (studied some C++ coding in high school) and a bit of music (studied the flute in middle school and know how to read music sheet; started learning a bit of piano and guitar as well).

What I am specifically looking for is professional manuals or courses that will make me achieve what I want (especially marketing and pro-coding/animation-wise).

I am not planning on making big houses-level games, not at all, Imma stay grounded, but I want to learn everything one needs to make a little peculiar pearl indie game.

Please don’t gatekeep💛 you’ll might love this game💚

Have you played Orwell? Did you like it? (No spoilers pliz💖)

I was intrigued by it and was thinking about buying it, but since I’m not a huge fan of games that are first person or “worse” where you don’t see your character at all but just papers and stuff, I was indecisive…

I am huge fan of dystopy though!😃 so I need my fellow’s opinions hahaha (it’s on sale now for a very cheap price, if anyone is interested, btw💗)

Orwell (by Osmotic Studios)

it’s on sale now and it seemed promising to me! I read some reviews on Steam and some were not satisfied, maybe had higher expectations, but to me it’s okay if I don’t play the game of my life hahaha, also since it’s very cheap atm, but I’d like to have back some positivity before I eventually start to play it… with no spoilers, obviously, pretty please💗

Where do you find reliable visual novel collaborators? (As a writer)

Hello everyone!! I‘m writing this cause my main focus and passion is writing, and while I have a friend who might help with coding (or I could handle it myself), I’m completely on my own for everything else. I could draw and do basic graphic design, but it’s not really my passion. I'd much rather collaborate with professionals who actually specialize in art, music, and trailer making, instead of forcing myself to do a mediocre job.

One important thing: I deal with social anxiety, so I strictly prefer communicating through text or email. Video calls as last resort hahaha, but I’d prefer communication via text anyway.

I wanted to ask: is there a specific hub or platform to hire reliable professionals for VNs? Or do you usually just scout people through social media and hope for the best? Also, since I haven't published a visual novel yet, how do I show potential collaborators that I'm serious? I have published some books and comics before, but is that enough to build trust? I'm a bit worried that people won't take me seriously without a past game release if they see my page (if you want to have a look, here it is: ourclab.carrd.co).

Any advice on where to look or how to approach professional people, or how to improve, if there’s anything to improve, my page would be of such help (I’m in your hands honestly hahahaha)!

What’s the best medium to bring to life a story about dancing?

I’ve had this idea of a story for some years now and since I want it to be dancing-focused I don’t know if birthing it as a traditional novel will make it justice… I am not that prepared in drawing, especially anatomy-wise, so making it a comic would take me forever risking that I won’t even be satisfied with it…

i‘ve thought for some time that, in general, making visual novels (VNs) is quite the best compromise to make a story birthed if you’re not that good at drawing but you have a dynamic story: I could make just sprites drawings and some scenes illustration, find a way to make music for it, and that’d be better than either throw myself into something too big for me or transform it into a silent story (into a traditional novel) where making the reader feel the choreographies might be very difficult and result in a mechanic passage… But I’m looking for new perspectives that can widen mine! so please feel free to share yours in whatever you genuinely think it’s the best for this type of story! I am extremely curious!!💚

Interactive stories like The Pillars of Earth?

I haven’t bought it yet cause that specific story pitched in the trailer doesn’t personally intrigue me that much, but I’d like the fact that they took an original novel and made it interactive and with such an elevated care that it seems you’re watching an animated series.

This is what intrigues me: playing a novel that looks like an animated or tv series with a good story in which your choices change its finale.

Another game I saved into my wishlist that fits the description is Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, meanwhile a game I already played and love that fits the description is Detroit: Become Human and, even if not big on animation, Forgotton Anne (but I am in love with the story and the multiple finales).

I’m all ears guys🥰🥰💖
