The Waltz of Time - Photomanipulation

Hey everyone,

I’m a self-taught graphic designer from Senegal. I’ve been using Photoshop for a few years now, mostly learning through practice and personal projects, and I thought I’d start sharing some of my work here.

To start off, here’s a photomanipulation I recently worked on called “The Waltz of Time.”

The idea behind it is pretty simple: time is something we never really get to hold on to. We tend to dance between memories of the past and expectations of the future, and often forget the only moment we actually have—the present.

Would love to read what you think. Thank you!

Photoshop Crashing Frequently

I make a thumbnail for a video and after 3-6 minutes Photoshop crashes and doesn't recover any parts of the image at all. It has been doing this for several days. A blue ring appears near the cursor, I can't interact with anything and shortly after the app shuts.

Please help

If this Curves bug affects your workflow, please vote on the Adobe bug report.

If you frequently use Curves in Photoshop, especially if you switch between the R, G, and B channels using keyboard shortcuts, this bug is a significant workflow regression.

Since Photoshop 27.5, switching channels deselects the currently selected curve point. You have to click the point again every time before you can continue editing, slowing down a workflow that has worked for many years.

Adobe has confirmed they can reproduce the issue, but the report still needs more votes. If this bug affects your workflow, please consider voting:

Best way to darken skin showing through a helmet chin guard in Photoshop?

Hey everyone! I'm editing a photo where some skin is visible through the chin guard of a helmet and I want to make it completely dark so it's not noticeable. I tried creating a new layer on top, filling it with black and then lowering the opacity, but it doesn't look very natural. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to customize print on text?

I want to make a quick happy birthday graphic for my friend. Is there a way to make the happy birthday text be in this print? Like if the background is colored pastel and then the text is in this print? Google is giving me all sorts of unrelated print answers. Thank you!

how would i replicate the texturing on this? focusing mainly on the interplay between the colors on the corner and what looks like a black grunge texture

Is this considered threshold on photoshop? How can I recreate this effect on a photo?

? Ho

Guillermo Ochoa Poster

In response to Guillermo Ochoa’s retirement announcement, I designed a poster to commemorate his career. The design was intentionally minimalistic, with the primary focus on the gold-colored gloves and the prominent display of his name. Additionally, I created a trading card mock-up, a project I had been eager to undertake, which resulted in a visually appealing and successful outcome. 🇲🇽💫

How can I improve this photo?

Hey didn’t really do much to this pic yet, but I don’t really know where to start or even if I should change it much.

I normally edit underwater photos and I’m used to heavily correct and edit colors, this was my first time taking pictures of surf.

All tips appreciated 💙

How do I make (or where might I find) a brush that gives this streaked effect?

Hello, everyone.

I'm hoping someone might be able to help me either make or point me to some brushes that have the random "missing streaks" effect as in this image:

https://preview.redd.it/xj4qlyoxnfbh1.png?width=1495&format=png&auto=webp&s=db02f4dee6a379f0e42f89076ce2eeaa9a3115e8

I've tried to find brush making tutorials, but nothing I've come across shows an effect like this. There are a couple of Kyle's brushes that come close to this effect (Kyle's Inkbox - Brush Pen Dry Wow 3, for example) but they are either too grainy (I really like the almost vector look of the hard edge in this example) or the streaks always appear in a predictable pattern. In the image, you can see how the streaks follow the pen stroke.

Anyone have a clue why this is happening?

I've tried looking online, and every thread runs dry without any explanation.

So every time I create a new layer, when I click on the image with the brush, it either goes mad and paints lines everywhere, or, it paints one/two straight lines, from the side that the mouse was originally on.

I've tried loads of things, restarting, checking if its a path, turning off and on things.

By the way, i'm using a mouse, not a tablet, so it cant be pressure related.

Note: Whenever it goes mad and I undo what its just done, it then is able to paint brush strokes like normal, until I then create a new layer, where it happens all over again.

I've got a feeling there's a stupid explanation to this. Like i've accidentally clicked or pressed something. It was fine a few days ago

PLEASE HELP!

EDIT: I tried the same thing on MSpaint and it doesn't happen, so that's why I was assuming that its solely a photoshop issue?

Masking with color range cuts out part of my design, how can I properly mask this? Still really struggling with this type of masking...

When masking my design, the mask is cutting off a good portion of the edge noise that I feel really make the design pop, I cant figure out how to fix this. Added more details below on how I created and masked the design for as much context as possible, and any help is really appreciated! This type of masking has really stumped for quite some time, so I'd love to know a good fix

Design Process: Created this design by using Gaussian Blur, Iris Blur and Ripple on my smart object logo set to dissolve blend mode, for adjustments dropped a Threshold on top, then Curves & Levels to finetuning, finally adding a desaturated paper texture overlay.

Masking Process: To try and mask the noisy dissolve effect, I exported a png to add in a second ps project, used curves adjustment to make a sharp contrast between black and white, used the eyedropper tool to select the color off the logo, then used Select Color Range; this selection is what I used for my mask.

Color Changing for some reason

I'm trying to make a design for a brand for my mom, but for some reason, the only software that works for me, are drawing software, canva, affinity, and photoshop all make the colors a bit desaturated, for example, #ca641c became #956027

any solution?
