How can I create this?

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to recreate this in photoshop but I cannot find out how and youtube isn't helping. I was able to create a gradient background with the lines, that was easy to find and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I'm looking for a way to create this kind of 'distorted glass' on top of the gradient-line, is there anybody who could help me out?

Thank you so much!

Where I did wrong and how to correct it?

brief

So I did a design test from a company a few weeks ago but after the test I dont get any call anymore for the user test and this pattern keep repeating so I wonder if my technical skill need some evaluation. The brief said I just need to duplicate the picture, every asset is provided by the company except the logos. So below is how I execute it and I iniatiate to add the company logo I can find on the internet.

my work

the process

I'm assuming the shadow is not too similar with the example but what do you think guys, how should I improve this?

Practicing value studies (highlights, midtones, shadows) for my 3D/VFX training — recreated this BRU packet in Photoshop. How close did I get?

I'm currently learning 3D/VFX animation, and one of my academy exercises was to really understand midtones, highlights and shadows.

I decided to practice by recreating this BRU coffee packet from scratch in Photoshop using the Pen Tool, brushes, painting and masking.

It was surprisingly challenging to get the lighting, gradients and material feel right.

Still learning, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. 😄

What would you improve if you were working on this?

the good old days

I miss the days when I used to do photo compositing in Photoshop. I would spend a lot of time searching for the right images, then work for hours combining different elements until they looked like a single, cohesive object. Even though it was a tiring process, those were some of the best times

How to create this effect?

How can I achieve this effect? The artist herself said it’s a blend of the "Cutout" and "Oil Paint" filters, but no matter how I adjust the settings, I just can't seem to get the same result. Please tell me how to achieve this effect?

I cannot accurately select these ropes for the life of me

I need to create a mask so that I can extend the gray background behind the ropes, but all the tools I've used (selection brush, magnetic lasso, quick selection brush, select color range) end up very inaccurately selecting the rope and inaccurately screening out the background. Is there a better tool? Is there a way I should be using the tools instead?

is it possible to create a patterned border around a shape?

horrible image, but I would like to create a border around a shape that has the background of the photo removed. I want the border to be a pattern or even better if it can be made up of mini images/symbols together if that makes sense

Content aware crop tool

Is anyone else having trouble using the 'content aware' crop tool in the latest version of Photoshop? If I go out of it and back in, it generally works one time, but I use it quite often and it always worked good before. Thanks!

I’m trying to make the eraser part of my pen ACTUALLY ERASE and it won’t!!! It’s driving me insane, it just does whatever the tip of the pen does!!! Even though I’ve linked the hot key and all! What am I doing wrong?

Works completely normal on krita, eraser end is eraser—pen end is brush. Photoshop just can’t seem to comprehend the back end of my stylus as the eraser.
