So... when is enough, enough?

used to live in san diego, and checking in, there's this "shortfall" that needs to be addressed by the city ( not the county).

Police budget is still set to increase, after increasing by 26 million the year before. Totalling 700+ Million. Meanwhile, across the pond, the whole 'state' Paris is in totals to around 1.5billion USD, while servicing 10s of millions of more people.

Genuinely, how do the police have such a stranglehold on what seems to be every American city's budget?

I remember when the police budget was lowered once, and most of the police left to another city that has higher pay, but that wasn't even a catastrophic event or anything.

Just kinda ranting because the numbers, the excuses, etc are just too ridiculous. It's expensive to buy new surveillance equipped police cars every year I guess.

A still lake from above does not show its depth below.....

if you were a bird flying by, stomach full

Would you stop to look, to judge..... How far the dive is, for something substantial?

or would you glide past?

"taste washing" has been on many a fashion journalist's bingo card lately. Its easy to see why, tech 'ghouls' trying their hardest to cultivate positive aesthetics after decades of negative associations. And fashion is almost always for sale, you can't own Van Gogh's legacy, but you can Dior's, Vouge's.... maybe the Met's?

Will the guests care to make a statement? Will the dresses be good? Are some more men finally going to try anything other than a suit?
