for me it was definitely meera and dharam from SNS, it wasn’t even like she married a guy the same age as her dad, she married her sister’s father in law which completely complicated relations, she was her brother in law’s step mother and her sister’s step mother in law, also was her marriage even valid considering he was already married to durga, wouldn’t that just be polygamy ?, i mean i get they married again once she died but even then how the hell did ahem out of all people manage to agree to that, can’t say much about other people but honestly this was such a weird move from the writers, the way they romanticised this was not it and people still ship them as well which i find so weird, the only reason you can see chemistry between them is because the writers forced a love angle, i used to like the chemistry between vidya and shravan more tbh

was reading a post on this sub on how regressive itv has become, and i couldn’t agree more, and this also goes for a normal sexual relationship between a husband and wife

in gen2 kartik and naira would romance and have intimacy for their own pleasure (like a normal husband and wife would do), and the times they wanted a child (like akshu) they made it clear with each other, which was a good thing to do

didn’t watch gen3 but in gen4 every time armaan and abhira have had sex (because they get separated for years then do every single romantic thing in one week after that), it’s always somehow got to do with pregnancy, they consummated- bang abhira’s pregnant, they reunited after the leap- armaan thought kiara’s positive pregnancy test is abhira’s, they were shown being romantic one week, the next day miss abhira already ordered a pregnancy test (who btw is infertile and couldn’t get pregnant when she was young and it’s actually harder for most women to get pregnant in their forties), it’s like the writers want abhira to remember she can’t conceive a baby and make that her whole identity

she’s only 16, already making her have a teenage romance storyline going on with a guy who’s much older than her irl (though i heard he got replaced so don’t know about the new guy), also… if they keep taking these continuous leaps it’ll be hard to show the transition from a teenager to a adult, she’s 18 now so technically legally already a adult, whenever a new gen starts the fls are usually really young (like around 20-22), if they bring in a new actress how are they going to show her face change that much in just a matter of a few years (though we all know logic doesn’t exist in itv), i mean i wouldn’t be surprised if they do keep her as the main lead for gen5 though, since apparently they wanted to keep ashnoor as naira but she herself rejected because her and her parents didn’t want her to romance at such a young age (thank god they actually had some sense, but idk how true this is), they then brought in shivangi and even though she was technically 18 she still looked extremely young, also with arshiya because she’s still so young she doesn’t have that main lead energy in her, not to mention that mukti also looks really young so they may even keep her as well, knowing dkp this is most likely going to be a 2 sisters x 1 guy trope again, so it’ll be like two teenagers fighting over one old man

there’s this app called story tv and it comes up on my youtube and insta a lot and so many well known actors are doing episodic roles on them, fair enough if the scripts were actually good or if it was new actors trying to try out something, but the scripts are rubbish and they deserve much more

I’ve seen sm actors like zain imam, aditi sharma, nikki sharma, rohan mehra, karan mehra, so many, the list just goes on, has itv actually become so bad that these poorly executed and written scripts need to help big star actors now ?

I’ve even seen shehzada dhami do a few roles on there and he himself once said in an interview that post rishta he got offered a lot of roles, why would he choose to do something like this that takes down his potential ? (as it has done with the majority of actors who used to be part of well known shows)

before joining reddit, on insta i used to see a lot of popularity for these yrkkh couples and thought it was maybe a little overrated, anyways after joining this sub i realised it was just the delusion of some fans😝

anyways… who was your favourite couple from the show ?

mine was og abhimaan 😭(samridhii and shehzada), honestly idek why i liked them so much as a couple, shehzada wasn’t the best at acting and his cringeness with ruhi made the storyline unbearable, but still… it was better than whatever happened right after he left and they were done dirty imo (excusing the offscreen drama)

while gen1 defo had the best storyline and akshara and naitik were defo compatible and mature as a couple, there was zero chemistry between them

kartik and naira also had a decent storyline (at least their separation tracks were actually liked and well executed), but i wasn’t a massive fan of them particularly as a couple

i didn’t even watch gen3 so can’t comment on that, though i saw reels of harshad and karishma before so thought they suited each other more as a couple

(btw i am just speaking about chemistry here, no relationship compatibility or anything)

for me it was sasural simar ka😭💀

idk why but when i was younger i used to enjoy watching this show a lot, i think personally i liked the 2014 - maya era, after that i kinda stopped then began watching again after the whole generation leap because i liked piyush and roshni as a couple but even then the tracks genuinely gave me second hand embarrassment

like that whole slap scene and the bee track, the writers were definitely high when thinking of the scripts

i barely even watch the show now but one of their “romantic” scenes from a while ago came up on my insta and omds these two are so cringe, it’s like that nibba-nibbi waala pyaar i genuinely don’t get how people can make so many fan edits on them, the characters are so cringe and there’s no chemistry whatsoever, and the dialogues are so weird this gen

tf is “silly boy-silly girl”, even khadusmaan and stationary ki dukaan is bare able in front of that, i swear once the casting change happened the writers decided to bring unlimited cringe to this gen, also… why are grown up parents who are in their 40’s and 50’s walking around with “billi” bracelets, matching bracelets are cute as long as it’s not childish

not to mention how a grown up eighteen year old literally says “my billi”, “my mumma”, mukti isn’t their biological daughter which is why she probably didn’t inherit the embarrassment this family carries (but tbf i don’t watch this show so dk maybe she adapted to it)

also these two have gotten significantly worse at acting but they were always horrendous in romantic and emotional scenes, i swear samridhii wasn’t this bad when shehzada was on the show

didn’t watch the episode yesterday so im watching it now and i actually feel bad for him a little, till now apart from shreya he’s never really had any direct problem with anyone, for once he began behaving like how a lot of other contestants already were and for that his “friends” were disappointed in him

during the task yesterday his reason of knocking down shreya’s blocks was justified, he himself said if she didn’t do anything to his he wouldn’t touch her ones but she was the first one to touch his, obviously he got annoyed, he also got pushed in the process and hit with a block, even if the block wasn’t that heavy he definitely just got extremely overstimulated and that’s why got raged and started knocking everyone else’s over, shivangi becoming emotional over it was childish because she’s forgetting that shilpa is literally in her team who was knocking everyone’s down and started the whole thing so of course dheeraj was bound to get annoyed

shivangi then saying “i didn’t know sufi was above me” or something like that made zero sense because this is a game, shilpa’s responsibility is to save her, not dheeraj, obviously his priority will be sufi not shivangi

harshad saying “if shivangi gets saved during judgment day then we’re back to square one” is basically him saying dheeraj has a hand in shivangi getting terminated (if she does)

ram saying “this is not dheeraj dhoopar” was also really stupid, just because you haven’t seen someone lose their temper that much doesn’t mean they have to constantly live in patience

also shreya making a comment about them (dheeraj) not giving values to his friends or something is highly hypocritical since shilpa knocked hers over and even unintentionally hurt her in the process while even she tried knocking there’s over

afterwards sufi tried dragging the whole thing on by saying dheeraj didn’t offer him a premium meal, first he said he offered it after chamola then said he didn’t offer it to him at all, idk about before but he literally shouted “sufi u wanted premium right”, and he’s the one who said no

basically these guys think highly of a person until they lose their patience in one task and suddenly their a bad person who needs to backbitten about

shivangi really annoyed me and she needs to listen to one advice- stop bringing emotions into a game that is purely based on survival

clearly dadaji armaan predicted his future actions from beforehand and was trying to save his lover in the present time from it

- during their first baby time he kept asking her to get an abortion because of the whole life threatening thing, she didn’t and ultimately they had to suffer and their baby

- he didn’t even want to go ahead with the surrogacy and still did, anyways… she’s at most only stayed a year with that same child now who’s her literal daughter

- he didn’t want to move back into poddar house after shivani’s death but still did because of her… yeah that’s the same house he left for 7 years then proceeded to kick her out for 8 years afterwards

forget about armaan, he’s just some joker now, this girl plays a massive hand in her own downfall

im genuinely interested to know why this trope gets used a lot in itv (most of the time the two females are sisters) and a lot of the times (though it gets hated on) it still manages to do well in terms of trp and gets stretched on for a longtime, with ghkkpm, though the show turned disturbing quickly, it kinda made sense since it was an adaptation of another show

in yrkkh gen2 a guy was never introduced as someone who would potentially marry naira, obviously there was rishabh but his track was quite small, for kartik there was ashi who he “pretended to marry”, then there was vedika whom he actually married, for gen3 it had always been a love triangle, ig because of the whole rajan v harshad thing the focus shifted to two men and one woman, then in gen4 there’s literally always a second woman in armaan’s life, with abhira RK imo held barely any relevance, anshuman and abhira never even ended up getting married and they killed off his character, meanwhile armaan got engaged to ruhi, married geetanjali and even had intimacy with her, then got engaged to meher

there’s been sm other shows which have used the two girls x one guy thing and it’s honestly exhausting because has itv really ran out of ideas that badly

in ghkkpm s3, though it was another love triangle, it was still a little different since it was one girl x two guys but that got sacked (either because of viewership or trp don’t actually know), in yrkkh even i heard that gen4 was actually meant to be a one girl x two guys thing as well but then that idea got scrapped (think it was because they wanted to give ruhi more importance)

in kundali bhagya, though i liked that rishabh never became negative, even then they showed sm women entering karan’s life

so its just weird because though i dont like love triangles in general, but why is it more easier for makers to show a bunch of women in one man’s life then change it up a little and show someone else in the woman’s life ? (if they wanted to continue the love triangle arc that desperately)

ig fans and viewership also holds an opinion on this because i remember during yrkkh people were saying that pranali’s character literally used to get slutshamed because of the makers showing two men in her life, with abhira ig it was different since she never actually loved anshuman

basically… whenever i miss shehzada and samridhii’s chemistry i start rewatching clips of them🫣… ANYWAYS

was watching one episode when abhira had earned her first salary after her internship, armaan (since its a known fact that shehzada’s armaan was actually responsible and practical) wanted her to start saving money, this girl, at her big age of 21-22, didn’t even have her own bank account, she found saving up money “boring”, but at the same time wanted to leave after finishing her final exams and was making her “namesake” husband open a bank account for her, how on earth was she expecting to pay for her bills after the contract marriage ended

also… she once said that her mumma didn’t teach her wearing a saree or even cooking for that matter (i agree, not everyone can do those things), but then she said akshara taught her more “practical” things about life, and then all she would do was being shown fixing the underneath part of a car💀(i mean that clearly helped tho since her and armaan managed to open a garage of their own then she opened another one)

anyways… after her love marriage she seemed more interested in building relations then actually working, for someone who’s dream it was to become a lawyer to just leave it like that was disappointing to watch, and then… after giving birth when she technically was still meant to be on her maternity leave she took her literal baby to court, now obviously women can work and there’s the baby’s father and the rest of the family to look after him BUT if ur baby is literally crying for u at least comfort him first instead of taking him to court where literally anything could happen

after her and armaan separated and technically kaveri and vidya’s responsibilities were on her shoulders since she was the only one working (apart from the side saree business which didn’t even work out), she should’ve had enough money from working as a lawyer for so many years and should’ve saved up, she even had goenka villa and manish literally transferred half his property to her name which she didn’t once think about because this girl loves to suffer

after the 8 year leap she had her brother, she had her family in japan, she again had the entire goenka villa, if not about herself she should’ve thought about the random girl she decided to suddenly adopt and act as a mother to, but then she’s like “mujhe acha kasa kaam chod ke garage khol nah hai”🤡🤡
